We had the good fortune of connecting with Lametra Off and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lametra, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Words are parts of songs, poems, books and communication; I love words and the subtleties around communicating. For that reason, it is easy for me to love quotes. One of the quotes that currently resonates is – “When you truly don’t care what anyone thinks of you, you have reached a dangerously awesome level of freedom.”

Today, authenticity, originality and uniqueness is more important than ever… especially with social media, the internet of things and easy access to information. Differentiation is essential.

The word ‘freedom’ is what I love about the quote. Freedom is subjective; however, in our first world society, most of us are a ‘prisoner’ to the ways of society – the societal norms. Although, we all are YOUniquely made, generally, we are doing what everyone else does, says, etc. Freedom is BEING… specifically, being YOU.
Oh! As for words and differentiation, I created “Becoming A Diamond Snowflake: Discover Your YOUnique Brilliance” – a workbook ready for you to discover YOU. Get your copy here > https://www.lbocareercoaching.com/workbook.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In corporate America, as an observer, I saw things. What did I learn from my observations? Leadership and management are not the same.

If you are a manager and things are a little off, or if you feel overwhelmed, or if you are micromanaging (or being told you are micromanaging), LBO Career Coaching & Consulting LLC is for you. (LBO is an abbreviation for Leadership Beyond Objectives.)

Leadership Doesn’t Always Feel Natural.
I know this because I’ve been you.
I’ve been the one sitting in back-to-back meetings, barely having time to think — let alone lead.
I may have micromanaged out of fear. I’ve doubted my voice in the room. I’ve carried the pressure of needing to “have it all together” because others were watching. And I’ve seen firsthand how lonely management can feel when you’re trying to figure it out without a blueprint, a mentor, or even a moment to breathe. If any of this hits home, you’re not alone — and you’re not broken. Leadership isn’t just about managing others. It’s about knowing who you are when you lead. Before you can master strategy, delegation, or influence… you need clarity on how you’re wired, what’s silently tripping you up and where or how you are brilliant. That’s where my company comes in. To reintroduce myself…
I’m Lametra Off, leadership coach, mother, wife, veteran and founder of LBO Career Coaching & Consulting LLC (LBOCC).
With self-assessment, introspection, reflection and thousands of hours of learning and discovering; and hours of training and experiential work, I learned what career is best. I learned leading is essential as opposed to managing.

With grit, dedication and trusting the process, I’ve trained thousands of professionals (from Google to Meta to the U.S. Air Force) and helped them lead with clarity, confidence, and impact — without losing their mind (or their evenings).

As for a competitive advantage, with LBOCC you get a leader (and team) with years of experience in several industries (military, government agencies, banking, and more), formal training and a degree in Human Resource Training and Development with a certificate in Adult Training & Development and professional designations – International Coaching Federation Professional Certified Coach; National Career Development Association Certified Career Services Provider, and more.

Also, I am certified to administer and assess a number of proprietary assessments.
For your convenience, access one here > https://www.lbocareercoaching.com/emerging-assessment
It’s a personalized, no-fluff report that reveals how you show up as a leader—and where to level up for more confidence, clarity, and career growth.
Here’s what you’ll take away from this assessment:
Your unique leadership style and how it’s impacting your team
The hidden blind spots that could be holding you back from that next big step
Practical strategies to show up as a high-impact, authentic leader
Clarity on how to reduce stress, build trust, and lead without burning out.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmmmmm…. where to go in the Dallas area…

For the provocative, “artsy” or modern day – viewing the giant eyeball downtown Dallas; viewing the Lower Greenville, Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts District and Uptown murals; seeing the city from Reunion Tower (eating dinner also?); and for a nature opportunity, if during Spring, see bluebonnets. Lastly, in Dallas, there’s a cattle drive art/sculpture – Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive. All options are great photo opportunities.

For history day(s) – the grassy knoll (where JFK was shot), The Sixth Floor Museum (book conservatory), JFK’s accused shooter’s home, Oak Cliff area, Bishop Arts District, Arts District, Dallas museums (there’s a Dallas Arts District Museum tour), viewing the Dallas skyline at dusk coming from 35 South going North.

For sports day(s) – AT&T stadium to see where the Cowboys play; Globe Life Field to see where the Rangers play; American Airlines Center to see where the Mavericks play basketball and the Dallas Stars play hockey. If there are games going on, get tickets for the game for the fan.

Alternatively, for the “gaming day” – National Video Game Museum for a few hours and Cidercade for another few hours..

For the BBQ days – Hard 8 BBQ for the smoke in the hair and clothes experience; Terry Black’s BBQ for the award winning, on TV BBQ; Winners BBQ because it is highly recommended.

For the western (Cowboys and Indians) day – Fort Worth for the Stockyard experience and the historical “old west” elements; depending on the season – viewing a rodeo (Mesquite, Fort Worth, etc.). Also, dance at Billy Bob’s dance hall.

For TV themed days – Southfork Ranch (the place known for and shown during the Dallas the TV show opening) and Bread Winners Cafe and Bakery or White Rock Coffee (where The “Real Housewives of Dallas” were shown drinking coffee). Additionally, we may point out areas where Queen of the South was filmed (Oak Cliff and Fair Park).

For a spa day – go to World Spa. It is new, modern and Instagram worthy. However, it you want a spa day that’s less Instagram worthy, go to Spa Castle on a weekday.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, it takes a village. I dedicate The Shoutout to my family, friends, supporters and colleagues.
First, my husband who supports my business and serves as an advisor, construction crew member, Chief Technology Officer, assistant editor, and many other roles.
Second, my son, who serves on the staff as an advisor, aide, crew member, and support staff.
Third, my mom who is my biggest cheerleader. Also, there have been many colleagues who are an excellent source of encouragement and help. For example, currently, Madonna Chavez serves one of my team members and works to provide administrative and event coordination and other support.
