Meet Chris Lacquement | Entrepreneur & Industry Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Lacquement and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“I am committed to doing what is right, not what is easy, and I trust in the journey,” is a powerful affirmation of personal integrity and the long-term value of making principled choices, even when they don’t lead to immediate success or recognition.
Living by this principle means choosing what aligns with your values rather than taking shortcuts or opting for the more convenient, yet potentially morally compromising, path. It’s easy to justify taking the “easy way out” when faced with challenges, but the long-term cost of that decision is often inner conflict, guilt, or regret. You may win in the short term, but you could lose a piece of your peace.
Even if you don’t always win or achieve the desired outcome by doing the right thing, there’s something incredibly powerful about staying true to yourself. At the end of the day, your actions, based on your core values, create a sense of inner peace that can’t be shaken by external circumstances.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Located in the heart of East Dallas, White Rock Pet Grooming is the premier pet grooming salon serving the local community with unmatched care and quality. Founded by Chris Lacquement, a dedicated local groomer with a passion for animals, our salon was built on one simple belief: when you treat pets and their people right, success follows naturally.
Chris didn’t come from a corporate background or with a plan to build an empire—he came with a pair of shears, a love for animals, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way. Over the years, Chris has learned that the grooming industry isn’t just about technique—it’s about trust, compassion, and consistency. At White Rock Pet Grooming, we honor that every single day.
We don’t cut corners here—every pet gets treated like our own. That’s why our clients keep coming back, year after year, and why we’ve become a trusted name in East Dallas. Our grooming is top-quality, our service is friendly and personalized, and our mission has always been the same: do great work and take care of people and their pets.
Chris often says, “I’m not a businessman who grooms—I’m a groomer who built a business.” This distinction matters. It means we lead with passion, prioritize quality over quantity, and hire only the kind of people who share our values. This isn’t a stepping stone or a side hustle—it’s a lifelong career rooted in a deep respect for the animals we serve.
We’ve learned a lot over the years—how to grow without sacrificing standards, how to build a team that cares, and most importantly, how to make sure every pet leaves feeling better than when they arrived.
To the world, we’d like to say this: White Rock Pet Grooming is more than a grooming salon—it’s a promise. A promise to always put animals first, to treat every pet like family, and to continue setting the standard for compassionate, high-quality grooming in Dallas.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were coming to Dallas for the weekend, I’d plan a day that shows off the best of the city—great views, a delicious steak, and unforgettable experiences. We’d start the morning with a peaceful stroll around White Rock Lake Park, taking in the natural beauty and enjoying the calm before the day picks up. From there, we’d head over to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, one of the most beautiful spots in the city. It’s the perfect place to walk and talk, surrounded by vibrant flowers and stunning landscapes.
For the afternoon, we’d explore the cultural side of Dallas with a stop at the Perot Museum. It’s a must-visit with a diverse collection. Just down the street, we’d unwind at Klyde Warren Park—an urban green space with food trucks, music, and a great place to people-watch. It’s casual, fun, and right in the middle of the city’s energy.
When evening rolls around, we’d head to Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse in the West End for dinner. It’s a classic Texas steakhouse that never disappoints, known for its prime cuts and wild game options. The rustic charm and rich flavors make it a great spot to share a meal and reflect on the day. After dinner, we’d make our way to Waterproof, a chic rooftop bar located atop The Statler hotel. With a poolside lounge and sweeping views of the Dallas skyline, it’s one of the best places in the city to watch the sunset while sipping on a cocktail.
To finish the night, we’d head to The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum for a concert. It’s one of the most iconic music venues in Dallas, hosting everything from indie bands to big-name acts, all in an electrifying atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to cap off the day—music, energy, and memories that last. That’s my idea of the perfect day in Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take a moment to give a huge shout-out to someone who has been absolutely invaluable to both me and White Rock Pet Grooming—Dorothy Fischer. Dorothy isn’t just a coworker; she’s been my friend and partner for over a decade. From the very beginning, she has been the backbone of this business, and I genuinely cannot imagine where I’d be without her.
Dorothy has done it all—whether it’s answering every call, responding to every text, managing countless emails, or greeting each customer who walks through the door (both human and four-legged). If you’ve been to White Rock Pet Grooming, you’ve experienced Dorothy’s incredible warmth and dedication firsthand. She’s the face and the heart of the business in so many ways, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have her by my side.
Professionally, Dorothy is as much a representation of this business as I am, if not more. She handles everything with a level of grace and professionalism that I deeply admire, and her commitment to the business and our customers has been unwavering. There’s no way this business would be where it is today without Dorothy’s contributions, and I am beyond grateful for everything she has done to help grow White Rock Pet Grooming into what it is today.
But beyond her professionalism, Dorothy is also an incredible person. She’s a mother who has worked tirelessly to provide for her family, and despite facing personal challenges and heartbreaking losses, she has remained strong, steady, and inspiring. Her resilience is something that truly amazes me, and I’m so lucky to not only call her my coworker but also my friend. Dorothy shows up every day with a positive attitude, an unshakeable work ethic, and a heart full of compassion, and that’s something I’ve always admired about her.
Dorothy, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart—for your hard work, your dedication, and your friendship. You’ve been a crucial part of my life and the success of this business, and I couldn’t have done it without you. I’m beyond grateful for all the years of partnership and support, and I can’t wait to continue building something amazing with you. You truly are the foundation of White Rock Pet Grooming, and I’m lucky to have you on this journey.
