We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve learned that risks are needed in order to elevate. Before tattooing, I was not much of a risk taker. I liked to play it safe when it came to my career. However, taking the risk to start tattooing and opening a private studio changed my life and career. You’ll never know if you don’t try!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I used to work in healthcare, but over time, the stress and exhaustion took a toll on me. Eventually, I hit burnout and made the decision to step away. I gave myself two months to rest and reset before considering my next move. But during that break, I discovered tattooing—and something just clicked. It felt like the perfect way to reconnect with my creative side while also creating a life with more balance for my family.

It wasn’t easy in the beginning, and there are still challenging days. But the difference now is that I genuinely love what I do. Tattooing brings me so much fulfillment that it doesn’t even feel like work. It’s truly therapeutic—for both me and the people I get to tattoo.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are foodies. So we would definitely be on a food tour. We would hit up Seapot, Hatsuyuki, Emporium Pies, Shugs, Nick & Sam’s, Pecan Lodge, Mike’s Chicken and so much more.

A special shoutout to Christina Auburn from Inked House. If it wasn’t for her course and kindness, I would not have had the confidence to jumpstart my tattooing career.
