We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Piland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is it takes time to grow. You have to work your way up. It doesn’t happen over night. Build connections with others in your industry. They are going through the same struggles as you or have already and can help you along the way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a wedding and event florist in the Fort Worth area, I’m passionate about creating vibrant, one-of-a-kind arrangements that bring brides’ wedding dreams to life. What sets me apart is my unique blend of analytical and creative skills, which I’ve developed with my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Master’s degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. My degrees may seem unrelated to floristry, but they’ve taught me the importance of attention to detail, problem-solving, and innovative thinking – all of which I apply to my floral designs.

Growing up, I was fortunate to have a entrepreneurial mentor in my Auntie Chris, who taught me the ins and outs of running a business from a young age. We started a jewelry business together when I was just 9 years old, and that experience sparked a passion for entrepreneurship that has stayed with me to this day. I’m grateful for the people in my life who have supported and guided me on my journey, and I believe that their influence has helped shape me into the business owner I am today.

Of course, building a successful business takes hard work and dedication. It’s not something that can be handed to you – you have to chase your dreams and put in the effort to make them a reality. For me, that meant attending social events, networking, and continually learning and improving my skills. I’ve learned that there’s always someone new to learn from, and that staying open to new ideas and perspectives is key to growing and improving my business.

At the end of the day, I’m driven by a passion for bright colors, gardening, and making brides’ special days truly unforgettable. I love nothing more than seeing the joy and happiness on a bride’s face when she sees her wedding flowers for the first time, and I feel grateful to be able to play a small part in making her wedding day dreams come true.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Give them a tour of Fort Worth. Start with with the Stockyards and go out country western dancing. Go to the Fort Worth Botanical gardens. Take her to the stables where i keep my horse and go horseback riding. Have delicious tex-mex food at a food truck down the street from my house.

Most fun place will be the stockyards! so much to do and see.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The person I would like to dedicate my shoutout to is my Auntie Chris. My parents also deserves a little credit and recognition in my story.
