We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesca Maietta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francesca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
it was really in response to requests from my audience. Fitness has been a passion of mine forever, but it’s really only been a side gig because i still have a full time corporate job.
The best way for me to give my people what they want, was to make it my full time job. I was getting a really good response on YouTube, my audience is very global so starting a business and a community where we can all focus on fitness together was the natural next step for me. As we grow, I am slowly but surely making my company full time, leaving corporate & working on this all day everyday!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always been really big into moving my body. I was a dancer from the age of two until 18. And then I got into cross-fit my senior year of high school & really loved working with heavy weights. Fast forward to college, I lived with a bikini competitor for my first two years & she taught me a lot about personal training outside of cross-fit, as well as diet. Fast forward a few years later, I took my first hot power sculpt class & was hooked. As a former dancer, I loved the rhythm based movements & intensity of the workouts & the added benefits of the infrared heat. I ended up taking 200 classes in a little under a year & one of the studio managers encouraged me to take their 200 hr teacher training, and the rest is history!!
Now in my own classes, i have developed my own format which I call Formula F- which incorporates yoga, strength, and mobility all to the beat of the music.
It wasn’t easy, it was all such a natural progression for me, Of course, there are and were some days that I don’t want to get out of bed because it is such a physical job, but I always remember the bigger picture & the why of it all. People are getting up in the morning & expecting me to show up, so I do. Nothing beats the energy after class.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is my sister so this is what I would do with my baby sister!
– We would start the day off by going to a heated class that I’m teaching at – Align or O2, depending what day it is.
– then we would walk the Katy Trail & make our way to Mamaka Bowls, i always order the babe bowl, then we would get back on the KT & go to Alive and Well. Go get some peptide shots, maybe an IV, do a little shopping at the boutique at O2.
– Next, depending on the weather, i would take her to the arboretum. then we would have an early dinner at Las Palmas, would definitely order the sour cream enchiladas…
– I would assume we’re in a food coma by now, so i think a thai massage is next at Thai Massage Refresh.
– Then get some dessert at Jeni’s ice cream!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my business partner and co-founder of FK BODY, Kelbi Mueller. It was such an easy decision for us to partner up and start something that we’re both so passionate about and we’re really excited to change some lives.
