Today we’re excited to be connecting with Scarlett Bella Song again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Scarlett Bella, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Scarlett Bella Song. I am a 16 year-old dancer, actress, podcaster, jewelry-designer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist residing in Dallas, Texas.

I initially became a public figure when I chronicled my journey living as a young commercial dancer in Los Angeles (on my Instagram @scarlettbellasong). My platform grew as I joined established dance companies, trained with world-renowned choreographers, and participated in high profile performances.

Two years ago, I launched a podcast that streams on Spotify called “Wait… This Is Deep.” It is a bold series geared towards teenagers facing complex social issues and pressures. “Wait… This Is Deep” is designed to provide emotional and mental health support to teens who are struggling with school, life, family, friends, and the daunting future. We have a wide variety of episodes that get to the heart of the adolescent human condition. Topics span a wide range of issues, including dating, academic pressure, eating disorders, mental health, family dynamics, complex friendship issues, etc. This podcast marries my passion for helping others and fosters a sense of community.

Finally, my most exciting recent achievement is my involvement with the Dot Conner: Webtective TV/Movie franchise. Season One of the family-friendly TV series is currently streaming on national/international platforms. Dot Conner: Webtective the movie is currently in post-production and we aim to showcase it in theaters later this year.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
My personal journey over the past few years has evolved and expanded in numerous ways. Yet, while I have diversified my mediums of creative expression, I have remained consistent in my core values and aspirations: to express my creativity and voice in a manner that contributes positively to my community and broader society.

Prior to 2020, I focused predominately upon expressing through dance and entertainment. Once the pandemic hit and I could not longer pursue my daily routine of dance and acting training at various studios, I searched for new creative outlets that I could pursue at home while we sheltered in place for 18+ months.

Starting in August 2021, I focused on expressing myself artistically and creativity through jewelry-design and fashion. I had designed a jewelry-collection Annie X Scarlett which featured aspirational pieces (with “affirmations”) designed to support young girls who were struggling with emotional health issues during the pandemic.

Once we could safely integrate back into society, I performed with not-for-profit Kids Rock For Kids to help raise money for homeless children in New York and Ukraine and I also curated a fashion show for KidzCon in Dallas to build community.

Now, my two greatest areas of focus are my “Wait… This Is Deep” podcast (streaming on Spotify) and the Dot Conner: Webtective TV/Movie family-friendship franchise (with Season One of the TV series streaming now and the movie in post-production).
