We had the good fortune of connecting with Taushey Sias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taushey, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
“Like I always say… Go BIG or Go HOME!” And trust me, babee I’m not going home! 😆 Taking risks has always been part of my DNA—whether in my ministry, music, business, or even stepping into Broadway for the first time!

I’ve always been the type to jump first and build the parachute on the way down—even when I was scared. Because let’s be real, fear doesn’t pay the bills, and comfort zones don’t make legends! 🙌🏾 There were plenty of times when logic, “black and white” rules, or even people around me said, “Nah, that’s not the way to do it.” But I’ve learned that sometimes the most successful people aren’t the ones who follow the rules—they’re the ones who break them (in a good way, of course 😉).

From launching TVL Label, getting my music placed in movies, stepping into acting, and even being bold enough to teach others how to do what I do, every level of my career has been a faith walk, a leap into the unknown. And honestly? Those risks have always led to my biggest rewards.

So, my motto? If you feel the fear, do it anyway. If it makes you nervous, that means it’s worth it. And if you’re gonna take a risk—TAKE A BIG ONE. 💜🎤And That’s on Periodt!!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
“Let’s dive in!” 🎤💜

My art? It’s everything. It’s not just about the music, the acting, or the business side of things. It’s about using every tool I have—my voice, my passion, my creativity—to connect with people, tell stories, and inspire others to step into their purpose. I’m most proud of the way my art touches lives and how it shifts the atmosphere. Whether it’s a gospel song, a Broadway role, or an artist I’ve mentored who’s now living their dream—I’m just excited about the ripple effect I get to create.

What sets me apart? I think it’s that I don’t just do things for the sake of doing them. Everything I do has a deeper purpose, and I make sure it resonates with the people around me. For me, it’s always about authenticity, heart, and making sure I’m not just a vocal coach, artist, or producer—I’m also someone who can show others that they can break boundaries and live out their dreams.

The road to where I am now has been anything but easy. I’ve faced some incredibly tough challenges—from losing everything in a fire and rebuilding from scratch, to surviving domestic violence while being a single mother of four children. There were days when I felt like I couldn’t make it, but every step I took showed me just how strong I really am. Despite not having much help, I kept moving forward for my kids and for myself.

I went from being a struggling single mom with no clear path to graduating as an outstanding student from MCC, becoming a professor, and showing my kids that no matter what life throws at you, you don’t give up. Every no, every closed door, every person who doubted me only fueled my fire to push harder.

Getting to where I am today was not easy. But each of these challenges taught me invaluable lessons:

1.Resilience is key. When you lose everything, you realize that your worth isn’t in the things you own—it’s in the fire inside you.
2.You don’t have to have everything figured out—just keep moving forward, one step at a time.
3.Being a single mom doesn’t make you weak—it makes you a fighter.
4.Education and knowledge are power—graduating from MCC and becoming a professor opened doors for me that I never thought possible.
5.Your story isn’t defined by your struggles. Your greatness is defined by how you rise from them.

What do I want the world to know about me and my brand? Well, I want them to know that TVL Label isn’t just about music, it’s about legacy. It’s about helping artists and creatives find their voice, step into their full potential, and leave their own mark on the world. My story isn’t one of overnight success—it’s a story of faith, grind, and staying true to my purpose, no matter how many doors slammed shut in my face.

So to anyone who’s out there dreaming big but feeling unsure or facing challenges—just know that you are not alone, and your journey is unique to you. Keep pushing, keep learning, and always believe that the best is yet to come! I’m living proof of that.

And honey, this is only the beginning! 🚀💜🎤

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“Alright, let’s get into it because nobody—AND I MEAN NOBODY—makes it alone!” 💜

First and foremost, God gets the biggest shoutout because, baby, if it wasn’t for Him, I wouldn’t be here. Every opportunity, every door, every ‘YES’ I’ve ever gotten has had His fingerprints all over it!

Next, my family and friends—they’ve seen me at my craziest, wildest, and most ‘what-in-the-world-is-Taushey-doing-now?’ moments 🤣 but still held me down! They’ve encouraged me when I was ready to quit and reminded me why I started in the first place.

My beautiful babies—DeAnthony, Lyric, Cherish, and Tayshawn! 💜 Y’all are my greatest blessings, my biggest motivation, and my daily reminder of why I keep going. Everything I do, I do with you in mind. You all inspire me to dream bigger, push harder, and never settle for anything less than what God has for us!

My mentors, teachers, and industry folks—so many amazing people have poured into me, from music to Broadway to business. I can’t name them all, but they know who they are! Their wisdom and guidance have been priceless.

And let’s talk about TVL Label & my students—every artist I’ve coached, trained, and developed has actually inspired ME just as much as I’ve helped them. Watching them grow, succeed, and walk in their purpose fuels me to keep pushing forward.

Lastly, a special shoutout to every ‘No’ I ever got! Yep, you heard me right! Every closed door, every doubter, every “You’re not ready”—thank you. Because that just made me go harder, work smarter, and prove that I was BUILT for this! 💪🏾

So, to everyone who’s ever prayed for me, supported me, challenged me, or even doubted me—thank you. Because, honey, we just getting started! 🚀🎤💜
