Meet Jonathon Brindley | CPT, Owner & Athlete

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathon Brindley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Edge of Endurance stems from my deep passion for endurance sports and the satisfaction I find in helping others reach their full potential. As an athlete myself, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs of pushing limits in endurance events. I know how personalized coaching can make all the difference in unlocking someone’s true capabilities, both physically and mentally.
I wanted to create a space where athletes could receive tailored guidance that respects their unique needs, goals, and progress. Generic training plans simply don’t work for everyone, and I saw an opportunity to offer something more — a coaching experience that’s truly individualized, helping athletes reach their personal bests while fostering long-term growth and success. My goal is not just to train individuals, but to inspire them to realize what they’re truly capable of, both on the track and in life. Edge of Endurance is built on the belief that with the right support and mindset, everyone can push their limits and achieve extraordinary things.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Edge of Endurance apart is the commitment to truly personalized coaching. I take pride in getting to know each athlete’s individual needs, goals, and obstacles, and crafting a plan that’s as unique as they are. It’s not just about achieving performance goals, but also building long-term, sustainable growth. I focus on the mental aspect of training just as much as the physical, because I believe that mindset is often what separates the best from the rest.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built around Edge of Endurance. It’s a space where athletes support each other, push each other, and grow together. Seeing people not only improve in their training but also develop a stronger sense of self-confidence is truly rewarding.
The journey to where I am today has definitely been a mix of challenges and triumphs. It wasn’t always easy — running a business requires more than just passion; it takes discipline, learning on the fly, and sometimes navigating uncertainty. One of the biggest challenges was balancing the demands of growing the business with maintaining personal connections and a healthy work-life balance. I’ve had to be adaptable, always learning new skills, whether it’s marketing, client relationships, or time management.
Overcoming these challenges came down to perseverance and finding support from my gym community, my family, and my wife, Mary. There were times when I felt overwhelmed, but staying focused on my passion for endurance sports and the bigger picture helped me push through. I also made sure to reach out for help when I needed it, which taught me the value of collaboration and community in business.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable: the importance of consistency, the power of listening to your clients, and the need to embrace failure as an opportunity for growth. I’ve learned to be patient and trust the process, while also being flexible enough to adapt when things don’t go as planned.
What I want the world to know about Edge of Endurance is that it’s more than just a coaching service; it’s a community built on trust, commitment, and the belief that every athlete can achieve greatness when they are supported and guided properly. I’m here to help people unlock their full potential, both in their sport and in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love having our friends and family come visit our neck of the woods. In fact, we’ve only been Texans for about 4 years! Any chance we can, we love to show off all there is to do here in North Texas! We’d try a few different restaurants, including Hutchins BBQ, Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, Texas Steakhouse (not Roadhouse 😉 ), Allen Cafe and more! We’d visit some places like Klyde Warren Park, Katy Trail (with a stop at the ice house of course), head down to one of our favorite places, Dream Center Dallas, and of course take them shopping at Buc-ee’s!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge shoutout to my wife, Mary, whose unwavering support and belief in me has been a constant source of inspiration. Her encouragement and love have been crucial in every step of this journey.
I’m deeply grateful to my entire family for their continuous love, support, and encouragement. They’ve always been there for me, and their belief in me and Edge of Endurance has been an essential part of making this all possible.
Lastly, I also want to thank my incredible gym community that shows up every day, pushing their limits and motivating me to do the same. Their energy and dedication make it easy to stay focused and passionate about what I do.’
