Meet Blake Ainsworth | Tattoo Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Blake Ainsworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Blake, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was motivated to start my own business because I liked the idea of being my own boss, having unlimited potential, and being able to create a positive environment to work in.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have to say that what sets me apart from other tattoo artists is my extreme talent, my background in biomedical science, and my faith as a Christian. I got to where I am today by operating in my skill set. I grew up knowing I had a gift for drawing–which was largely unused, because I didn’t like drawing, but I found it to be very fruitful when I used it for my career. Learning to tattoo wasn’t the hard part for me. I was very gifted to begin with. What was more challenging was learning how to run a business. Marketing, customer service, connections, being the best, and faith are super important. Balancing in those areas are what make a healthy business. Healthy things grow. I want aspiring beginner tattoo artists to know that being self-taught is definitely a lucrative journey, if you can handle it. Try to be the best, put others before yourself, and God will take care of the rest.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Conveniently my studio is located in my favorite part of Fort Worth– that is– Magnolia! If my best friend came by, I would have to show them to my favorite businesses here on Magnolia, like 817 Vintage, Maggie’s, Salsa Limon, Benito’s, and Paris Coffee Shop. Not too far away is the Fire Station skate park that Dickies built just a few years ago. Speaking of Dickies, the Dickies arena is not too far away and a concert would be nice. The trails along the trinity river make for a nice walk, and the Omni theater is the best place to see a movie. As far as people go, you can meet plenty of great people in the churches all throughout Fort Worth and the rest of DFW.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a lot of people to thank for my success. First of all, I have to thank God. I also have to thank Gateway Church for leading me back to Christ in December 2023. Right now, my social media team is helping me a lot. They have lifted a great weight off my shoulders, and they are very gifted at what they do. I have to shout out my friends and family as well for being very encouraging and supportive!
