We asked experts from a broad range of industries to open up to us about things they know about their industry but that we probably don’t and we’ve shared some of those responses below.
Jana Spillers | Nurse Practitioner & Lactation Consultant
“Many people envision that their cash pay holistic healthcare providers earn exorbitant incomes. In reality, the cost of brick and mortar offices, supplements, continuing education, licensure and even childcare makes it difficult to practice in this economy. There is also a lack of understanding of the difference between the PRICE of healthcare and the COST of not receiving care. For example, a couple may feel that the price of lactation services is not in their budget but the longterm cost of formula is exponentially higher.” Read more>>
Jennifer Cantu | Au Naturale Aesthetic Nurse
The most outstanding thing about the beauty and cosmetics industry that most are unaware of until they personally experience it, is how empowering confidence is on people’s mental. When we talk about and promote the projects we’ve been able to land roles on, that’s only like 20% of the wins and the other 80% are rejections. The industry can seem it’s about acceptance and rejection and all actors will experience it, it’s just part of the process. The right roles will come to you in time and your progress in this line of work is never linear so as long as you continue to hone your craft in all areas, no matter how much time it takes, you’ll be fine.
