We had the good fortune of connecting with Sj Pasion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SJ, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
We call it K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple by Standing Ovation – It is One phrase that we always go by. For us, there is beauty in simplicity. This phrase embodies who we are. From our interior to the drinks and the food that we serve. Everything embodies beauty in simplicity.

What should our readers know about your business?
One of the great lessons we’ve learned from this journey is that there are no shortcuts in life or business. We flew to New York for a 3 day training with a Taiwanese company to learn about the history of milk tea and learn the different techniques and variations of making milk tea. The same is true with our other offerings, we study, analyze, and criticize it before we put it out. Always challenge yourself and never rest on your laurels. There will be a lot of challenges a long the way, but always believe in that goal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are definitely a lot of wonderful places to visit in the DFW area. There a lot of places to visit but the White Rock Trail Lake in Dallas is a must. This is the best place where we can be close to nature and have fun. The Perot Museum is also a wonderful place to visit and have dinner in One of the great BBQ places in town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to thank our parents of course for their love and support. Their advices as we were growing up have been invaluable. Of course a big shout out to our associates, we will not be here without their hard work and dedication. And of course, a big shout out to our dearest customers and the community for supporting us since day One and we encourage them to continue supporting small/independent coffee shops cause these places are the lifeblood of a community.
