Meet Tristan Johnson Sr | Owner/Creator For 8409 Media

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tristan Johnson Sr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tristan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor is the people. You can not be successful without people around you and just general people. Once you get a name for yourself you can’t forget what and whom catapulted you to that level. I always pay attention to my supporters,followers, and fans. Without them we are nothing as creators. So as I say, “The wealth is in the people”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I run a Media Company that includes Photography, Videography, Magazine Publishing, Podcasting, Filmmaking, and much more in those realms of skills.
What sets me apart from others is I do this for everyone around me more than myself. The way I communicate is another thing as well. I am very personable and once you around me you see that I do this flawlessy and you able to see the passion I bring to my projects and the detail.
It’s not easy growing in this media industry. It’s ever so changing and you have to know how to adapt and most fall in the cracks because they dont get that aspect. In comparison how Blockbuster went under when Netflix came. You have to look ahead and also you have to keep sharpening your craft. Never be content with anything. That’s a negative quality to have.
Overcoming challenges I find is easy when you consistent. You gotta remember someone is working just like you and just as hard as you so you cant take days off and you gotta always be true to your own craft. Lessons I have learned is to never compare your work with anyone elses. And I also use the analogy, when you go down a shopping aisle at the grocery store, is there just 1 or 2 options of the same item? No there are a variety of the same item. So never feel like you are not worthy just because the person you follow or other creators are doing what you do at a high caliber. We all gotta eat and guess what, someone is going to buy your brand. So never stop creating and never judge yourself or compare your success to someone elses. When people come and work with 8409 Media brands, I want them to know that you are gonna get a lot of bang for your buck, a lot of energy, a lot of laughter, a lot of words of wisdom, and leave knowing that you are special. I treat everyone with the same courtesy I would treat my family, Because you will become my family before our project is over. And also know that you are working with someone who will bring you visions vs mine to light. I care about your opinions and visions and I will blend ideas to bring out the best project possible. And like my slogan “…snap every moment” know that 8409 Media does just that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I born and raised Dallas,TX. But I call Garland,TX my hometown because that’s where I was made persay lol. I spent my preteen and teen and early 20’s in Garland. It’s just home. One thing most other states dont have is trains and rails. We have a awesome Dart Rail system and get around anywhere in the DFW pretty much. I would take them to downtown dallas show them the Reunion Tower and take photos around all the skyline buildings. Def will take them to one of the many great BBQ places to eat and then head to Boomerjacks for drinks. You never know who will run into Downtown. So many celebs and pro athletes just be walking around. I am a big sports fan, so I will definitely recommend going to see the Mavs or Stars play. I love hockey games in person its so much better plus the food is amazing at American Airlines Arena
Its always the most fun Downtown Dallas for sure because it has a little bit of every thing for all kinds of people.We have the best State Fair so if you travel between Sep14-Oct 14 check it out. It’s nothing like our fair. And eat the best fried foods ever I love Deep Fried Oreos!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly God. I give all praise to him. (Exodus 14:14) (Matthew 6:34) My story started with a musical, smart, talented family. So I thank all my family. My mom for the tough love she has always shown me, and that helps me with being in the industry I am in. Because we are in the eyes of the public and often judged and ridiculed . That toughness comes from her for sure. I also thank my mentor Eric Brinkley Sr. He is my mentor. Even though I am passed the point of needing a mentor, I still love the fact that I WANT a mentor because Eric is like a big brother and I always look to his work and his words for inspiration. I also have the best team ever assembled with my 8409 Media family. My brand models are so talented and diverse. They all give me a piece of something daily. They would all stop on a dime for me, and knowing that means so much. My Son Tristan Jr. who is part owner of 8409 Media. He is the reason the brand exists quite honestly. This will all be his someday. Leaving a legacy that he adores and loves as much as I do means so much. And in every strong man corner, there is his Queen. I have an amazing Fiance, Taylor Rae who is a true blessing to my life. She is also an amazing model/creator/influencer/women advocate/business owner as well in her own right. She is my rock when I need her, and her love for me makes me want to take over the world. She is my better half, bestest friend and future Mrs.8409. My story is still in the making, but these people in my life make everything about me the reason why people follow and look to me.
