Meet Stone Mecca | Music Director & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stone Mecca and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stone, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is when you’ve done something that not only feels your heart with joy, but also inspires and uplifts those around you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I do my music, every song is like a new painting to me. I see all the colors and I can choose what I want each song to look like. I’m proud that I’ve trained myself to have the ability to play what I hear so I can really complete the painting in my own way. From others witnessing those painting, I’ve been able to do some wonderful things with a lot of talented people throughout my career. The one main lesson I’ve learned is though you’re doing things and maybe making money from other peoples projects and ideas, never forget about your own vision and always keep that in the forefront. I always have and always will be focused on making quality art because I believe people deserve the truest expression from deepest parts of every artist so to touch their souls and inspire their inner light.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would tell them to stay at Hotel Dryce in Fort Worth, take them to eat at Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley in Downtown Dallas or TLC vegan cafe then take them to see my friends play live music at different venues in Deep Ellum.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I thank my Father for keeping music alive in our house growing up. He got his emotions out playing his Saxaphone and he’s always had a way of helping me through life with creative and inspiring words.
