We had the good fortune of connecting with Franklin Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Franklin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I founded my business with a focus on creating Christian children’s books, aligning with my vision to nurture spiritual growth among young readers. This deliberate choice reflects my commitment to providing literature that integrates faith-based values into children’s educational and recreational experiences. My decision to start my own business was driven by a desire to facilitate children’s spiritual growth by fostering a closer connection to Christ while emphasizing the importance of reading in their developmental journey. This initiative stemmed from recognizing the increasing technological orientation of the world and the need to ensure a balanced focus on traditional values and essential skills.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What distinguishes Franklin the Helper from other businesses is our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact, prioritizing societal betterment over financial gain. While many enterprises are driven primarily by profit motives, we are firmly grounded in our mission to contribute to the well-being of our community and beyond. Through initiatives such as book donations, free distribution, and extensive community service efforts, we strive to spread peace, joy, and Christian values. Our journey has been guided by a steadfast adherence to the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose principles have illuminated our path. It is our fervent belief that our brand serves as a conduit for advancing the divine mission of spreading love and compassion in the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my buddy swung by Dallas and wanted to chill, we’d hit up Ernesto’s, a cool Mexican restaurant in McKinney, or Paisanos Taqueria for some awesome tacos in north Dallas. For a weekend vibe, Las Flamas sports bar is a solid bet, or we could bust a move at Escapade 2009, a fun dance club. If we’re feeling fancy, VIVO in downtown Dallas is the spot for a night out. And for some daytime fun, Six Flags is where it’s at with all those crazy roller coasters!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as to my mother, whose unwavering support and guidance have been integral to the inception and success of my business. Jesus has been a source of strength and inspiration throughout my journey, while my mother’s steadfast encouragement has played a pivotal role at every stage of development.
