We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendyl Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendyl, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I moved to Dallas in 2017 from New York. Throughout my career, I had the opportunity to work with global brands and agencies in the experiential marketing space before it became a mainstream term and practice. After relocating and working for a small local agency, I saw a need for a firm who created meaningful experiences rooted in marketing objectives. Many of the firms in Dallas were primarily focused on event and wedding planning, so I opened LOUDER Experiences in 2019 with the mission to build experiential marketing campaigns that made an impact and moved the needle for businesses.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

LOUDER Experiences is an experiential marketing firm that creates exceptional experiences that drive consumer impact. When I moved to Dallas, I found a gap in the marketplace. The majority of the event firms were either wedding/party planners who will dabble in corporate events or local branches of national marketing agencies where the teams are dedicated to 1 or 2 major Fortune 500 clients. I wanted to create a space that could build activations for businesses of all sizes and use the experiences to drive measurable behavior. We opened in 2019, have grown in revenue and client count consistently each year, and are proud to say that 2023 was our most successful year yet!

Opening a business based around live events one year before a global pandemic that shut down our industry was not easy. At the end of 2019, Legacy West, a multi-billion dollar mixed use retail development in North Texas, approached LOUDER to create something new for the holiday season. We almost turned the job down as “holiday decor” was not in our services, but the client insisted they wanted a non-traditional activation that would excite shoppers and draw new traffic to Legacy West. By the fall of 2020, our experiential activations were the most popular in North Dallas and found on every social media site. Our retail business grew from there and now we concept and build retail activations at properties throughout the country in addition to our traditional brand experiences and sponsorship activations.

The one thing I always want people to know about LOUDER is that we exist to create meaningful experiences. We don’t just make something look pretty or repurpose the same rental items for every client. We use our marketing expertise to dive into the clients objectives and then use our creativity to build a custom experience that makes an impact. In short, we help companies and brands get LOUDER in order to stand out in a noisy world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I recently hosted a group of friends and family from all over the country for my birthday and got the chance to do just this!

We stayed at the Virgin Hotel in the Design District which was just perfect for fun vibes. We kicked off the weekend with a tasting dinner at Uchi. It or Uchiba is always a must on my list. I always take visitors to Terry Black’s BBQ, a Dallas go – to for their brisket and creamed corn and to Las Palmas or Mexican Sugar for queso, margaritas and incredible Mexican food. When we’re not dining out, I spend most of my free time hopping around on Lower Greenville or in Deep Ellum, visiting various shops and restaurants. I can often be found biking the Santa Fe Trail and spend many spring and summer afternoons at White Rock Lake or the Arboretum. For entertainment, I always love to catch a show at Addison Improv and Four Day Weekend, or spend a few hours watching the Cowboys in Arlington at AT&T stadium. My favorite place to take visitors for a little bit of Texas charm is to a two step night at Cowboys Red River. It never fails to be a memorable experience for out of towners.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My friends, former coworkers and family believed in the vision of LOUDER long before I did. I have always been independent and self starting, but owning a business makes you realize that your community is everything. From introducing me to potential clients, to hyping me up on social media, to listening to the woes of the entrepreneurial rollercoaster, to working alongside me at my events, my support system has been crucial.
