We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliana Macias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliana, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
For me, work-life balance is essential for my overall well-being, job satisfaction, and productivity. Initially it took a while to find the equilibrium between my professional responsibilities and my personal activities that I needed to maintain to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. After about a year into starting my business, I finally gained the ability to allocate time and energy to work and personal interests in a way that does not compromise my mental, physical, or emotional health. Looking back now, achieving work-life balance has been rewarding once I found a rhythm that allowed me to meet my career objectives while also preserving personal relationships, hobbies, and leisure time.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a mobile phlebotomist, think of it as your personal vampier, if you will. Mobile phlebotomy sets itself apart from others by offering the convenience of having blood drawn in the comfort and privacy of a patient’s home or workplace. My service is particularly beneficial for patients who are unable to leave their homes due to mobility issues, busy schedules, or other health conditions.

I am most proud of how flexible we are and can be. We have the ability to schedule appointments outside of regular business hours, making it easier for patients to access blood work without disrupting their daily routines. Which, if you ask me, time is of the essence so this is a HUGE plus. Additionally, mobile phlebotomy services can be tailored to meet the specific needs of individual patients, providing a more personalized and comfortable experience.

Overall, mobile phlebotomy is an innovative and convenient solution that offers a more patient-centered approach to blood work, setting it apart from traditional phlebotomy services.

As a business person, you can imagine all the different hurdles and emotions put into starting a business. In the beginning I felt like I would never get to where I am today, it was truly slow coming. I recall sitting down feeling defeated as the days passed with little to no business. I quickly recovered from that slump and I’m definitely glad I did. It wasn’t easy in the beginning, that’s for sure!

“Don’t ever give up” is an important lesson I feel everyone should learn. Life can be challenging, and we all face obstacles and setbacks along the way. However, it’s important to remember that these challenges do not define us and that we have the strength and resilience to overcome them.

When faced with difficult times, it’s important to stay positive , to know what and why you are doing what your are doing and who you are doing it for and to just keep pushing forward. We can learn valuable lessons from our struggles, and these lessons can help us grow and become stronger. So, don’t ever give up on your dreams and goals, and keep working towards your aspirations. With hard work, determination, and perseverance, anything is possible.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in a, once small town, of Ellis County so there isn’t many things to do unless you love shopping. I mostly love to stay close to home and local because, just being completely honest here, i generally travel all over the DFW area for my company.

We have several spots we like to visit for breakfast one of our favorites is Butter and Grace for some hometown cooking and the other would be El Mexicano Grill for friendly service and good quality food. This is also a favorite for dinner when we don’t feel like cooking.

We are a very outdoorsy kind of family so hiking at the Cedar Ridge trails or at the Getzendager Park to burn calories. We also like fishing out at the lake near by or spend the day outside playing baseball, kickball, or volleyball with the kiddos.

We may catch a movie to wind down an the Showbiz theater and burn the rest of our energy at the arcade or bowling. It may not seem like much but we sure enjoy it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe my utmost appreciation and gratitude to my spouse and family for their unwavering support and patience as I embarked on this journey of starting my own business. Their constant encouragement and belief in me have been the driving force behind my success and progress.

Starting a business is not an easy feat, and it requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. However, with their continued support and love, I have been able to navigate the challenges and stay focused on my goals.

The willingness to lend a helping hand whether taking photos, dropping off kids, waking up kids so they don’t miss the bus, donating an assortment of bandaids, patience, and understanding when I have to work (in my case) early mornings, have been invaluable to me. It has taken lots of players to run this team and I am truly blessed to have such supportive and loving individuals, especially my husband who always has my back.

I cannot thank them enough for all they have done to help me get to where I am today. It means the world to me, and I will forever be grateful for it.
