We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
One piece of advice I get often is that I should raise my prices in my shop in order to better compensate myself for my work. However, this business was created with accessibility and humanity as its top priorities. While I know my work deserves fair compensation, I believe I am compensated more than fairly by my clients not only financially but energetically! I’ve formed strong connections in my community and have helped many people kickstart their spiritual journey due to the accessibility of my shop, which is something I’m so beyond grateful for. I take pride in offering quality spellwork and witchy wares to anyone who needs it, and I believe that price should not have to be an issue if at all possible when a person is seeking spiritual guidance or tools from me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a queer man, it is important for me to add elements of self empowerment into everything I create for my clients. A goal of Blessed Be Witchery is to empower people to more deeply connect to themselves and to assist in their spiritual journey by hand-crafting unique metaphysical tools. I craft different intentional spells in the forms of candles, oils, spell jars, jewelry, and more. Some of my most popular spells include “Growth”, which allows its user to manifest & grow their own intention, “Calm Down”, which decreases anxiety and stress, and “Protection”, which protects users from unintended negative or harmful energies. Every metaphysical tool that I craft is intuitively made by me with love, compassion, individuality, and positive energy!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
DFW is a wonderful place to do pretty much anything you can think of! As a Denton local, I spend most of my time hanging out in Denton. I love going to the square and hanging out at Recycled Books, Jupiter Coffee, Freeplay Arcade, and all the other fun shops and restaurants around! There are many cool small businesses to check out, such as Salted Sanctuary Soap, Delta 8 Denton, and Salvage Secondhand Shoppe.

In Dallas, I love going to The Underground Market! It’s a vendor market that happens every weekend at lower Greenville and is always so much fun to walk around and see all the small businesses and their goodies!

In Mckinney, there are some super cool shops like The Groovy Coop and Native that I love stopping in when I’m around!

Overall, DFW is one of the most diverse places to find fun things to do and places to go. It’s home to so many awesome small businesses and offers many opportunities for a great night out!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s important for me to recognize the people who have supported, encouraged, and motivated me in my business journey. Without them, I wouldn’t be a tenth of who I am today and my business probably would not exist. First, my parents have been the biggest driving force in me growing as a business owner. They have both been successful business owners throughout my life and I’m blessed to have learned many important things about the world of business through them. They have both been supportive of my business since I’ve started it a year ago and I can’t thank them enough for that! Next, my incredible partner Jack has uplifted and encouraged me since the start of Blessed Be Witchery to maintain it as my passion and never lose my spark. He comes to markets with me whenever he can and helps me more than I could ever ask! It’s truly thanks to him that I’m able to run this full time and enjoy every moment of it.
I’m also super thankful for my best friend AJ, who also comes to markets with me whenever he can and encourages me to keep pushing through the great times and the hard times of owning a small business! He is a major part of my growth and a huge blessing in my life.
Lastly, the vendor communities in Denton, Dallas, and Mckinney that I’ve found myself woven into is one of my favorite parts of owning a small business! I have made many amazing vendor friends and memories with them that I will cherish forever. They’ve each taught me many important things about myself as a person and a small business owner, and will always have such a special place in my heart.
