We had the good fortune of connecting with Teresa Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teresa, what is the most important factor behind your success?

The most important factor in the success of The Boomer Blues is consistency. I have been intentionally consistent with creating meaningful content even when I don’t feel like it, there’s a lot going on, or if the engagement isn’t what I would like.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am a voiceover artist for my dog Boomer. I’ve been acting for over 30 years mostly in stage, but have recently fell in love with the art of voiceover. My talent is comedic interpretation of one’s (typically those who can’t speak for themselves) thoughts by their actions. I’ve done this for years. I love to make people laugh so I’ll make a funny interpretation for babies, cars, animals, etc..to go along with their actions. I started this with Boomer and was encouraged by my friend Bettina to post it on social media. It became an outlet for me to be creative in a new era of social distancing and quarantine. In the beginning, it was just a fun way to be creative and make myself happy but now it has blossomed into a more broad source of joy and laughter for so many. I’m truly proud that God has given me this gift and I pray He continues to use me as a light bringing just a little bit of sunshine, a glimmer of hope, and so much love to the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I honestly don’t get out much but I would definitely have them come to Klyde Warren Park to enjoy the food trucks for a nice picnic. I would take them to Grandscape for some adult putt putt at Puttery. We would check out the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington. We would eat at Roots Southern Table. We would go to Legacy Hall. We would check out The French Room at the Adolphus and enjoy a few pop up museums.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would like to shoutout my Spring 99 Marco Polo group for encouraging me to start The Boomer Blues. I’d also like to thank my baby girl Cayden Jo for being my sounding board. She watches EVERY single video giving me feedback before posting. Also I’d like to shout out all of Boomer’s fans for continuing to support us in our endeavors of bringing a little light to the world.
