We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Tutson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always had a passion for the arts, especially photography. I started out just taking photos as a hobby and eventually thought I would try my hand at opening a small business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Ive always loved the arts. Music, drawing, painting, poetry, dancing, photography etc. All of it! I used to take pictures on my phone and use them as wallpaper on my computer and people would ask where I got it from. It was mine! I look back and where I used to be and how far I’ve come. It’s been a journey that’s for sure!
I started off wanting to be a nurse. I was a teenage mom so I busted my butt, graduated high school early and went straight to college. I worked two jobs for years trying to support myself and my two children while in college so burn out happened and I decided to put school on hold. Fast forward years and years later.
A photographer saw some photos I took with my phone and said I had a good eye and asked if I ever thought about getting into photography. When I mentioned this to my husband he goes, “I’ve been telling you that!” Haha. So that’s how this came about. I bought my first Nikon camera in 2018.
I decided to go back to college and open my business. It was a slow process, as I work full time and I have 4 children, but it became official in 2020.
I graduated college in 2021. I’m pursuing that nursing degree now. I’m also growing my business, so I’ll see where it takes me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go to Downtown Dallas of course! There’s so much to do and so many places to choose from.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband has been my biggest fan and supporter. I’d like to shine some light on him for how much he has encouraged me and helped me through everything.
