We had the good fortune of connecting with Britney Renbarger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was pregnant with my second daughter and wanted a career change that would allow me to stay home with my daughter. I decided to launch PinkTag.com, and with the help of my husband, who built my website, it was off from there!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
PinkTag began in my closet in January 2017. I love fashion, and I wanted to start a business where I could share my passion with moms and others like me. I’m most proud of how much PinkTag has helped me grow as an entrepreneur! I’ve made it where I am today through hard work, determination, a willingness to take risks, and giving back to my community.
As an entrepreneur, I am so proud to have a business that helps support my family. There is truly nothing more I could ask for! I grew up in a low-income family, and just 11 short years ago I was a single mom working two jobs to raise a toddler. As my business continued to grow, I was able to bring on my sister and my cousin, who were also single moms at one point in their lives working two jobs to support their children. Through PinkTag, I am now proud to say that my company helps support both my family and my extended family, while also giving back to the community regularly. So when you shop PinkTag, you are not only supporting a small family business but a business that gives back in more ways than one. Thinking back, it is incredible how far we have come!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are located in Louisville, Kentucky, and our hometown has so much to offer! I would recommend starting the day with breakfast at locally-owned Con Huevos. They serve fresh Mexican breakfast and lunch. It’s SO GOOD! After breakfast, it’s off to the Derby Museum and trackside at Churchhill Downs! I recommend sipping on a Louisville favorite, the fresh Mint Julep, while watching the gorgeous horses. For dinner, visitors can’t miss the River House. They serve fresh seafood and have the best river views in the city, so you can enjoy the sunset while relaxing on their fabulous patio!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband’s company, RedTag Digital, for helping with all my digital advertising strategy. Also, the creative team for helping me build my brand and take it to the next level! The Boutique Hub has also been important to my success. It’s a group of women and boutique owners that help to support one another by pushing community over competition. It’s fantastic to be part of a group that is willing to help you grow and is constantly supportive of one another!
