Meet Tammy Thomas | Actress & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risk are essential for success. Most of the time, fear is what debilitates us from trying new things, relocatiung to a different state, changing careers, starting a new business, etc… 90% of the time, WE ourselves get in our own head, and talk ourselves out of taking that leap of faith.
Personally, I am FUELED by fear! I am afraid of NOT trying, because if I don’t try, i’ll never know what could or would have become of that endeavor or adventure!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an actress, Writer, Filmmaker, Voiceover Artist, Radio Personality and…a Jill of all trades! I, alongside my producing partner Bob Carter are the CEO’s of EDEWEMESEY Films. We have finished post production for our Feature Film – The Rings That Bind Us, a 1970s period piece which will screen in both Dallas and Atlanta! I am so proud of this film, because it stars some AMAZING home grown Dallas talent, including Bob Carter, Me, Yarbrough & People’s, and Shuckey Duckey just to name a few!
There were many challenges we had to face with this film, including filming a period piece, on a shoestring budget, in
8 DAYS in Dallas in 104 degree temperatures!!! While it wasn’t easy, it was definitley worth it. We kept each other going by staying positive and knowing that the finished product would be EXTRAORDINARY, and indeed it is!!
Prayer is essential and necessary for my sanity and well being…. Every night before bed, and every morning when I wake up…THAT is what keeps me going! It makes ME stronger and able to handle those difficult situations wisely. Success is putting in those looooong hours, showing up early, staying late, and being appreciative of the people who helped you along the way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Bishop Arts District – This is handown my FAVORITE spot in Oakcliff!! It was one of the first southern areas to be regentrified
Trinity Grove – Another Oakcliff jewel. I love the all the eateries they have, from casual to high end, they have something for all!
Design District – This is my spot I go to when I want Pie Tap Pizza, or if I want to get a little more pricey, then I’ll go to Town Hearth…Gotta get those Wagyu Asada Fries…Mmmmm Mmmmmm……So decadent

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
GOD. He is my solace, my strength, my joy, my certainty, and my sanity
