We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Hector and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Opulent Skin Suite was born out of the necessity for a more flexible work schedule and the desire to help other women boost their self confidence and prioritize their self care. I was already working as a Makeup Artist and Esthetician but I chose to leave the company and go out on my own when it became a conflict for my family. I wanted to be more available for my children and husband while pursuing my dreams on my terms.

What should our readers know about your business?
Opulent Skin Suite is a manifestation of everything I seek when I visit a spa. I am proud that I have invested so much time, energy, thought, and love into creating a safe, comfortable, welcoming, warm environment for people to receive luxury spa facial services. I’m excited about all that it can become, I’m just getting started. I have so much farther to go but I’m also so far from where I started. I have worked diligently to continue to enhance my skills, increase my knowledge, advance my education, and connect with my clients and community. This journey hasn’t been easy but it has been extremely rewarding. There are so many challenges that I’ve overcome along the way with support from my family, friends, fellow business owners, and business coaches. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that I can’t do and be everything or everywhere. I learned, the hard way, that I can’t do this alone. I have to be open and willing to accept help from others. I want to encourage other women to pursue their dreams, no matter how big they are or unattainable they seem. Never give up. It took me years to get to the point of feeling confident enough to step out on my own and start a business. Now that I have, and I see what can happen when you step out of your comfort zone, I know that this business can grow into something major and have an immense impact on my community and how they view skin care and self care. My story isn’t unique or special but my journey is one of a kind.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister. My older sister has been my biggest cheerleader and supporter throughout my journey into entrepreneurship. She is there, anytime I need her, with a listening ear, an encouraging voice, a stern warning or two, and a sounding board for all my crazy ideas. I wouldn’t have made it this far in business without her loving guidance and business savvy.
