We had the good fortune of connecting with Florencia Cirigliano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Florencia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk has played a critical role in my personal life and in my career. I came to the states over 12 years ago to launch a luxury motorcoach business from Argentina and that leap of faith got me to where I am now. While it was a challenge to be 5,000 miles away from home in a country where English was not my first language, I think it is vital to embrace risk and never look back.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In my day-to-day, I am the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for RedCoach. RedCoach is a luxury bus company and we are rooted in the idea that everyone should have access to luxury travel accommodations. Growing up in Argentina, bus travel was and continues to be the most common form of transport, and we wanted to bring the idea to the United States.
RedCoach was founded 12 years ago and when we started, bus travel was not a very popular way of getting around in the United States, and still lags behind in popularity in car dense regions. However, we chose to start in those areas where we felt there was a timely need from both an environmental and accessibility standpoint. Right now, we service 16 major cities Florida and 6 in Texas – two major states that rely heavily on cars.
Early on, it was difficult to make people understand the value of bus travel, but especially with recent travel shifts, more people are starting to embrace the opportunity. As costs continue to rise across the travel industry with expensive flights and gas prices, I think we will continue to see more demand for new, innovative solutions, like RedCoach.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I have friends in town, we are eager to explore and try new activities. For a week-long trip, food is a big part of our itinerary. I love great culinary experiences, so I’m always on the hunt for buzzworthy restaurants. Similarly, culture is a big part of my lifestyle, so I’m eager to know about the best places in the city that carry a unique history.
In Dallas specifically, a few of my favorite places for dinner are Las Almas Rotas, Paradiso, and Sixty Vines in Uptown.
For a girls weekend, I like to stay at the Hall Arts Hotel or Hotel Crescent Court. Depending on if I am with family, I love to explore the local museums and take my kids to creative hot spots. The Dallas Museum of Art or Perot Museum are perfect for that.
Every city has a different story to tell and that’s why I love traveling so much – you get the opportunity to learn each city’s unique cultural fabric.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my fellow colleagues at RedCoach. They’re the reason I get up and work every day and I am thankful to work alongside a creative group of travel experts. For 12 years, we’ve worked hard to bring new life to luxury yet affordable bus travel in the United States and we continue to offer a fresh perspective. In 2021, we made the decision to expand our services to the Texas market and that expansion required so much help and encouragement from our employees. Our team is the backbone of this travel operation and as we continue to build out our bus network in new locations, that sense of camaraderie makes all the difference.
