We had the good fortune of connecting with Kindall Tucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kindall, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
My advice is to always take risks. I’ve always believed that your 20’s are for exactly that. “Playing it safe” doesn’t always equate to success.

Let’s say for example, you fail. Not only will you learn and gain experience from that failure, but it means you’re taking action. You’re not sitting on the sidelines watching other people accomplish their dreams, you’re also taking the steps to achieve yours as well.

More importantly, what if you don’t fail? I think assessing “Risk vs Reward” is important in all decision making, but taking risks are necessary if you want something more for yourself in this world. It’s actually more practical, in my opinion, to take risks.

Don’t compare your story to others, and never take advice from people who’ve never left their comfort zone.

I wouldn’t be where I am today in my life, or my career, if I wasn’t willing to put everything on the line for myself and my goals. You could make 100 mistakes between the ages of 20-30, and if it doesn’t work out, you still have time. Get risky!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my career as an Esthetician in 2018, and I began doing permanent makeup in 2020. I always had a passion for beauty, skincare, and tattooing, but I never could’ve imagined integrating all these passions together.

In this industry, you only go as far as you’re willing to work. It takes obsession and discipline to make it happen, On the other hand, it takes humility and authenticity to maintain it.

It was not an easy road, and at this point I feel like I could probably write a book on overcoming adversity. I was able to jump each hurdle because of the genuine love I have for what I do. The feeling I get when I see my clients face light up because they’re happy with my work…that feeling has always been enough to keep me going.

I’ve learned so much in these last 5 years, but I think one very important piece would be that having confidence in yourself takes you places that talent alone cannot.

Staying true to yourself, your word, your morals, and being the most genuine version of you possible. People notice those things.

My brand is all about emphasizing natural beauty, and removing the shame behind it, while also using a holistic approach. I think everyone deserves to wake up and feel beautiful. Whether that means clear skin or fresh fleeky brows!
v Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my friends visit me from out of town, I really enjoy showing them our city! Dallas is full of creative art, amazing food, and gorgeous city views.

Depending on the season, I always shoot for a rooftop pool, like the Statler or the Joule. Nothing beats seeing the skyline from the sky itself.

My favorite place to hangout would have to be the Bishop Arts District. It’s a very artsy place, with unique bars, restaurants, a book store, even a plant shop! There’s tons of hidden gems in this area.

Pro tip: There’s over 15 Speakeasy bars scattered around the city. If you’re into secret door entrances and whimsical bars, exploring these are a must while you’re here.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so much appreciation for Aadam and Saga, the owners of Valkyrie Tattoo Gallery & Midgard Tattoo Gallery. Not only are they both talented artists, but they have provided a safe space for us creatives to do what we love, with people we love.

I remember when I was first getting started in the early days of 2020 (pre-pandemic). Financially, mentally, and physically it was taxing, on all of us. I don’t know where i’d be today, had they not been such a positive light.

Their altruism really set the tone for my success and it’s safe to say I wouldn’t be here without the belief they had in me and my dreams. I am immensely grateful for everyone who’s helped me get where I am today.
