We had the good fortune of connecting with CamRoyce Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CamRoyce, why did you pursue a creative career?
Funny enough, in high school I was on the yearbook staff & fell in love with photography then. Being able to capture a particular moment & translate that into a million words is such a powerful and rewarding thing to do.

Unfortunately after high school I no longer had access to a camera of such good quality. This along with other factors caused me to slowly forget about my new found love of photography. Though I would never 100% give up on wanting to return to the field.

Photography is a passion & profession of mine that I particularly find challenging. The strive for near perfection within every shot drives me in a way that words simply cannot express. It’s literally me against me every time that shutter goes off. I love it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My particular style is traditional photography, though I would love to color outside the lines more in my future shoots.

I believe personality & truly understanding what the client is attempting to express through their shoot is what separates me from others in my field. Along with other things as well. This helps the client feel more seen and allows them to relax a little knowing that I’m not JUST there to snap a picture, but to also assist in their storytelling.

Funny story, before I started in photography I was actually making music. I started around… 2020 I believe. I had always loved making music. When I was younger, I would always write music and try to freestyle with my dad. Fast forward to about mid 2021, I had a realization that we live in a digital era, meaning people don’t just want music. They want content with it. So I bought a camera on a whim. Pretty soon after that, I realized that even though I have this camera, I didn’t have anybody to take pictures of me! So it was a waste of money… Until I got the amazing idea of rekindling my old flame for the love of photography & capturing pure moments.

Building a brand from the ground up is not for the weak. I’ve spent countless hours learning everything and more I can about my profession. Outside of the actual knowledge gained, getting people to buy into your business is a skill of its own.

Trial and error has been my saving grace surprisingly. In a field where you can literally create a new reality, there are so many things that can go wrong, but there even more things that can go right.

Consistency is key. Consistency will be talent. Consistency makes or breaks a small business. That is the best tool I’ve learned along the way.

My brand is one of a kind. It’s welcoming to all levels of models. Whether you want to do a family portrait, branding, fashion, or if you just want pictures taken. I deliver exceptional results every time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, GOD. Without the presence, none of this happens.

I’d like to shoutout my family for supporting each and every endeavor I’ve attempted.

My mom for always looking out and trying to help me with any & everything I need to separate my business from the next.

My dad for instilling in me a “go get it” spirit & never backing down from anything.

Lastly, major shoutout to my woman & best friend. She is always the first to support and share anything that I do. Having your partner believe in you is a MAJOR cheat code.
