Meet Kimberly Fain | Owner/Photographer Simply Baby by Kimberly Fain

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Fain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what is the most important factor behind your success?
With so many photographers to choose from these days, you must stand out in a crowd. I’m a people person and my main goal is to have happy clients. Happy clients bring more business. Customer service is my number one priority and making sure those clients needs are met. I’m also a detail person so details are just as important. Newborn photography is an investment and I want each and every one of them to have high end products that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I spent over 20 years in a sales management career calling on drs and being a social butterfly. That was my life and I loved it. However, one day I picked up a camera and was eager to learn to use it so I could capture gorgeous images of my grandbabies!! One thing led to another and in 2015, I went part time with my sales job and opened a full service studio with a dear friend in Burleson. Two years later, I quit my job and started doing photography full time. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. I was scared to death but knew it’s what I wanted to do. It was an easy transition but very hard at the same time. You either make it or you don’t and I had no choice but to make it work. It’s the hardest job I’ve ever done but oh so rewarding. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a new mom crying when she sees that gorgeous video of the new little person she has brought into this world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As silly as it sounds, I wouldn’t run off to Dallas or Ft. Worth. I love our little downtown right here in Burleson Texas!! I have so many favorite places to eat and they are all right here!! We also have live entertainment on the weekends so we never have to go far. Our winery’s are fun as well and all the little boutiques. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is definitely something I could NOT have done alone. Investing in yourself is so very important. Posing and photographing brand new babies is something you need to be taught. I have so many to be thankful for. Workshops and mentorships are a must. Just to shoutout at a few are Melissa Stanton, Bianca Hubble, Cherise Kiel, Amy McDaniel, and Kristen Mackey. I definitely would not be where I am today without each of these ladies showering me with all of their knowledge. They are all the “best of the best” and I owe a huge thank you to each of them. I’d also love to give my husband Jeff all the thanks in the world. He has stood by me and has been my biggest fan. It’s so nice to have him encouraging me every step of the way.
