Where are you from and how has it impacted you?

Even if you are from the same neighborhood as someone else, you might still be coming from different places. Where you are from is a complicated question and it elicits complicated, but interesting and thought-provoking responses. We’ve shared some of those responses below.
I am born and raised in Dallas, TX! I was blessed to be raised with both active parents. With the knowledge of hard work my father installed in me and my mother’s love and encouragement she grace me with, helped me become a beautiful young woman before their unfortunate passing. Growing up seeing how my body type as a young girl was not the idea body shape to have, I had a lot insecurity. My mother helped me to flaunt my flaws and embrace my curves which has also influenced me to open that door up even more to help other women embrace theirs. Read more>>
I was born on a military base raised by a military dad moving constantly getting to have a lot more life experiences and was raised in Atlanta. This made me more discipline and demand more from my community as a whole being able to see struggle as well as success. Read more>>
I was born and raised on a cattle ranch in North-Central Montana. I come from a pretty small family, and since the ranch I grew up on (and still live on) was a part of my dad’s family, we spent a lot of time together working and playing with my dad’s family. I learned from a very young age that it takes each of us to get the work done, and that there is something for each of us to do. From feeding bottle calves, to eventually learning how to milk cows, break colts, and take care of my own 4-H animals, work ethic and responsibility were a huge part of my every day life. Read more>>
