Growing up, I felt very hollow inside most of my childhood. Although my family shared a lot of love, it was very dysfunctional. As an immigrant family trying to make ends meet, I think the anxiety definitely trickled down to me and my sister. To have an outlet or an escape where I can narrow in on the present helped me build confidence. I don’t think I grew up receiving a lot of positive affirmations or even compliments. Freedom. Growing up as a preacher’s daughter, life was church. Life was prayer. Life was making sure you pleased God and made right decisions.

I have always had a passion for music and the arts. Growing up I was in the yearbook club and in band. I started taking random pictures in high school using a camera I took from my older brother…So happy he never asked for it back.
