The most conventional piece of advice that I disagree with is when people say, “it’s time to grow up” or “get your head out of the clouds”. I think these ideals often don’t leave room for people to dream or fully be their imaginative and creative selves. I think it is unfortunate that children are encouraged to “dream big” and use their imaginations, but suddenly when we become adults those things are no longer valued.
