Risk taking took on a huge new meaning for me in the last 5 plus years. Whereas years earlier I looked at going away from home for a place I made home and school effort for 4 plus years. I took a huge risk leaving the security of a job I worked nearly 10 years for the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. I didnt really have a safety net or really a plan other than make this dream work with the skills I’ve obtained up to that point. Was there plenty of challenges? Yes. – I think risks can definitely feel scary, but in business they’re necessary—and honestly, sometimes not taking a risk is the biggest risk of all. I’ve known risk taking since my earliest days in the foster care. I realized early on that if anything was going to change in my life, I had to be the one to change it. Throughout my youth, I had to intentionally mold myself into something I could believe in. Not because it was easy, but because the alternative was staying stuck in cycles I didn’t want to repeat.
