Taking risks has played a huge role in opening our business. My business partner and I are both attorneys, and have demanding, full-time careers that we both love. I’ve never been afraid to take a risk—it’s just always been in me. From a young age, I knew that playing it safe wasn’t going to get me where I wanted to be. One of the biggest risks I took was moving from Houston to Dallas with nothing but my children and faith in myself. I didn’t have much, but I had vision.

To me, taking risks isn’t about being reckless; it’s about being intentional, prepared, and willing to step outside your comfort zone when it counts. Life is all about believing in oneself and taking chances. In Arlington, Texas, I decided to complete my bachelor’s degree at UTA after COVID. Despite my anxiety due to the fact that I had just launched my business, I quit my full-time job and went full-time into baking in order to complete my coursework. This decision took a long time to make, but I’m glad I did. Because of my schedule, I was able to organize cookie dough lessons for children and participate in various pop-ups in addition to graduating. You should always bet on yourself. Risk has always been a significant part of my journey as a videographer.
