We had the good fortune of connecting with Shana Acquisto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shana, how has your pespective on work-life balance evolved over time?
It’s essential to have balance. Mike and I went for a long time without many breaks and almost hit a breaking point. We decided it’s best to plan short getaways periodically to rest and recharge. We still handle work while on vacation, but we try our best to plan everything out and ensure that everything is in good hands with our real estate family. We spend an hour to two hours each day handling work-related things while on vacation. Additionally, we try to have access to wi-fi and also usually have some internet access. A company retreat meeting is also done while we are on vacation, so we can actually sit down and discuss things business-wise. Stepping away allows us to see things differently and reflect back on our business to find ways to improve. These are just some of the things that we do to take some time off and gain some perspective. There needs to be a very high balance of work and life, vacation, and family. For the longevity of a real estate agent with each of these different pillars in life. It’s important to spend time with those that are important to you, and when you are working that you are intentional in what you are doing. We always do our best to spend quality time and invest emotionally and spiritually to those close to us.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a small boutique brokerage that offers individualized attention that every client deserves. Our reputation is built on service and backed by the resources of a family-owned, community focused business. Acquisto Real Estate strives to put our clients’ interests first and create clients for life. We pride ourselves in providing clients with all of the information necessary to help them make the best possible real estate investment decisions throughout the changing market cycles. We are extremely proud of the business that we have built from the ground up, beginning in 2001. We are blessed to be surrounded by people that truly care about the clients we serve and love how we have created a real estate family encompassing our agents and support team.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh… this is tough! We enjoy so many great places around the local area, but here are a few of our favorites. Legacy West, The Star, and Downtown McKinney. If you are into adult beverages… might I suggest finding Carlos the Bartender at Bula at Legacy West and indulging in a chocolate martini at North Italia. We love going out with friends and also having date night and are fortunate to have so many options when dining out.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Mike and all of our family and friends.
