We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara and Carlos Dominguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara and Carlos, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Transparency, You.ve got to be truthful. We are very passionate about delivering excellent products – but more than anything – exceptional and friendly experiences with our partners and clients. Two years ago we shared our story with Voyage Dallas and now, here we are, sharing the amazing blessings we have received since the last interview. Things haven’t been easy but when you share your soul and conscience with the people around you and you don’t expect anything in return – that is when the magic happens! Small businesses helping small businesses and being transparent have really helped to get a lot of doors opened. We became family with two businesses that opened the doors to us.: Railport Brewing Company and Fresh Market Coffee both in Downtown Waxahachie. Our Journey has really been an amazing one. Carlos and I set our expectations high on how we want to present our job, our menus, what value we can bring to our local partners, etc. We study the clients. We talk with them, get to know them, and work hard to find balance and to complement each other. Working with Railport and Fresh Market Coffee has been absolutely amazing. Another great Partnership we have is with Cassaro Winery, a local winery in Ovilla, Texas. Who doesn’t love brunch and wine? Cassaro brunches are once a month and their winery is beautiful! Inviting! The owners are always working hard to provide exceptional experiences to their wine club members. If you have not visited Cassaro, Railport Brewing Company or Fresh Market Coffee, they are a must if you are in the area!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We love what we do and, as we said before, being transparent and being honest have really played a great role in our business. Well, let me tell you, 6 months after we started our journey at Railport Brewing Company, Teresa, owner at Fresh Flowers and Gathering, called us to see if we were interested on doing business with Shane Herny, Shane Owns Fresh Market Coffee. Carlos and I were thrilled and thankful for Teresa’s humble and caring heart. Teresa is always helping and recommending small businesses in our town. We have deemed Teresa as our SJ Kitchen Table’ Angel 🙂 We visited Shane and talked about what he was looking for and the value our business could possibly bring to his awesome coffee shop. We worked on tastings and options to enhance his shop. Here we are, 10 months later supporting each other and providing all Fresh Market coffee lovers with the best bites to eat with their favorite coffee or tea . We have no doubt that Shane and his team feel the same way we do. We are extremely grateful for all the blessings we receive every single day. Our town just opened a new park right across fromFresh Market Coffee Shop. We are very confident that when this Covid-19 situation is over, our Raildyard Park will be shining and providing awesome entertainment to our locals. Fresh Market Coffee and SJ Kitchen Table will be there ready to see the show and to be part of it. SJ Kitchen Table is always supporting local business. Using local and fresh ingredients on our menus is something we love to do. We would like recognize Marroquin Farms for all the support to our business.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Waxahachie is an amazing town. The Historic District is incredible. Some of the houses are from the late 1800’s. The neighbors really take pride in their properties and some of the gingerbread houses are amazing. Waxahachie is also known as Gingerbread city and “Hachie”. If you haven’t visit Waxahachie, the county museum is a great place to start your day, The Getzendaner Park is a great place for walks or if you prefer to bring your bike this park is tree-shaded with fitness trails. Perfect right? Yes, what if we tell you that if you follow the fitness trail you will find Fresh Market Coffee Shop? You can stop by for a nice drink and a bite to eat. Why not ask our baristas for Shane, Carlos and Sara? We can come to say hello and thank you personally for your visit. After you visit Fresh you can walk to the Square. Yes, this isn’t NYC but we have our Town’ Square. The entire area is inviting and perfect for pics, shopping, eating and just walking around and checking out spots where the Oscar Winner films “Tender Mercies” and “The Trip to Bountiful” were shot. Wait, are you Thirsty again? Yes right! We can’t wait to see you at Railport Brewing Company located at 405 W Madison Street, Waxahachie, Texas! bring your friends, your kids, your dog and everyone you would like to share this amazing experience with. Thank you for your time and we hope to see you here in Waxahachie Texas. follow us on Facebook and instagram @sjkitchentable

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We absolutely wouldn’t be where we are today without the help and recommendation of great supporters that have become our friends. Over a year ago, we worked on several weddings and receptions with Teresa Choate, event coordinator and owner of Fresh Flowers and Gatherings , Teresa mentioned that Railport Brewing Company in downtown Waxahachie was looking for a food source, preferably a food truck, to provide food options to their customers from time to time. SJ Kitchen Table added a food truck to the family a few months before and we were in the process of looking for business in the Waxahachie area ( we Love our town). When Teresa recommended us to Railport we were so excited! We couldn’t wait to schedule our first visit to the first brewery in Ellis County! I Still remember how excited we were and to be honest, Railport has been like a big brother to us. Carlos and I love Richard and Shannan Womack – owners at Railport Bewing Company. Our relationship is the perfect example of small businesses helping and supporting each other. It has been over a year since we started providing our services and food to all of our Railport friends and we can tell you that there are great things coming in our future together. We have adjusted the menu from season to season but one main item remains at all times – our famous Street Taco Trio. Is there any better friendship than street tacos and craft beer? If you are looking for a great beer and awesome tacos? We got you! Come visit the Brewery.
