Persevere or Pivot?

To persevere or to pivot is a question that do-ers have been asking themselves since the beginning of time. It’s never a straight road when you are doing something new, blazing a trail, breaking a ceiling, or pushing boundaries, so it’s only natural to wonder whether to give up midway. How do you know whether to keep going or to give up?
Well, this one is easy! Don’t give up! I have hit so many roadblocks in my life – which have all been beautiful lessons that I so desperately needed to learn. Now that I’m on the other side of these roadblocks and life lessons I can see the beauty in the struggle and the depth of knowledge I learned about myself is truly invaluable. Giving up is always an option, and for me there for a few weeks, it was the option that seemed the best. I went over a month with zero sales. I ended up giving them as Christmas Gifts because no one was buying them. I wanted to give up, but I told myself “This is supposed to be fun.” From there I geared my “why am I doing this?” from money to having fun. Life is full of unexpected battles. Those battles are what inevitably influence our decision on whether or not we want to fight or flee. But I choose the former, and instead of fleeing I believe we should course correct when situations don’t work out in our favor.
