We had the good fortune of connecting with Niesha Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niesha, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
As a business & mindset coach, author, mentor and entrepreneur, I was the one who would go, go, go. Not really allocating time to the importance of self and mental care. In the days where I neglected my healthy eating routines or was sleep malnourished, I noticed my demeanor was a bit more hostile than the days where I was well rested, had eaten a balanced meal or started my morning with my spiritual devotional. As I’ve grown, I realize the importance of allocating time to the things that feed my mind, body & soul. I try to keep in mind that my health is my wealth; If I’m mentally, physically or spiritually drained then I can’t be as effective as I need to be for those that I am reaching back to. In todays time, the “Boss Babe” movement is great and I love seeing soooo many women out here moving great mountains through their passions & career. However, we are only as great as our mind allows us to be. We aren’t able to fully pour into others if our own cups are empty.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a woman of many talents. I have been running my Women’s Boutique for the last 5 years with the belief that anything is attainable with a disciplined mind. As I lead, I live by the motto “when you learn, teach;” Hosting business related workshops through my non-profit; as well as training women how to train their mind through my many published books. As I go through challenges, there is the reminder to always remain teachable. You can learn a lot when you position yourself to listen more than you speak but also listen with the intent to understand rather than respond. I am Niesha Johnson, an advocate for women empowerment, sisterhood, mental health & not giving up on yourself or your dreams!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I’m a lover of arts & nature. So our week would be filled with things like: Yoga & Zumba in the park. A visit to the arboreteum or butterfly cages. Afternoon brunch in deep ellum or uptown followed by a visit to one of Dallas many art galleries/ museums. Nights listening to live jazz or salsa dancing at one of the local bars. A visit to the Women Museum inside of the Fair park. A boat ride on the lake under the stars. I’m adventurous and am open to try anything.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many great people that has & still pours into me through mentorship, parenting, friendships & more. Outside of my mom who gave me birth (lol), I won’t be specific in this shout out as so many people have played apart in my success. However, I will say, Thank you to everyone who I call friend, leader, mentor & family. You all are greatly appreciated and help to not only keep me sane in times of despair but also help me to keep pushing through your obedience to your own goals & endeavors. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You are greatly loved & appreciated!
