We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Neil and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zach, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I never considered music as a serious option for me. I was planning to go to college, get my agriculture degree and work the family farm. Then at 16, my band entered a battle of the bands competition. After talking with one of the judges, I decided I had to give it a shot.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When you listen my songs, you’re going to hear country music that has those traditional elements like fiddle and steel in it with a western edge. I’m proud we’ve been able to keep that in my music while still creating something true to me.
Like every job, theres a rough day here and there and things you learn the hard way, but I’ve got a lot more to be thankful for than not So many wonderful, talented people have helped me get here and there’s no substitute for putting in the time and hard work, nobody can want it more than you!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that are the reason I’m where I am today. But without my first guitar, without the encouragement and support of my parents, I wouldn’t be here, thank you Mom and Dad!
