We had the good fortune of connecting with Yen Quach and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After struggling with the demanding hours at a nail salon while taking care of my two toddlers at home, I decided to make a change. That’s when I came up with the idea of creating a zero gravity pedicure suite. It’s a unique service that lets me be innovative in my work and still have the flexibility to juggle my job and parenting duties.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After struggling with the demanding hours at a nail salon while taking care of my two toddlers at home, I decided to make a change. That’s when I came up with the idea of creating a zero gravity pedicure suite. It’s a unique service that lets me be innovative in my work and still have the flexibility to juggle my job and parenting duties. One of our industry’s hidden gems is our zero gravity pedicure service. We also exclusively utilize organic products, offer non-toxic polish options, and feature a carefully curated selection of premium gel polishes from Korea, Japan, and Canada. Taking a big risk by starting my own business from scratch with a loan was a game-changer for me. Looking back, I’m really glad I took that leap because it led me to where I am today, running my own successful pedicure suite.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d start by taking my best friend to dim sum in Arlington for breakfast. For lunch, we would go to Hatsuyuki for the best sushi in Fort Worth. In the afternoon, a trip to the botanical gardens for a peaceful stroll among nature would be a must.
In the evening, we will head to a lively rooftop bar with a stunning view of the city skyline for drinks and live music. The next day, we would go to downtown to walk and explore the stockyards.
Mid-week, we will go indulge in a fancy dinner at Uchi restaurant known for its Japanese cuisine. To mix things up, we spend an afternoon at a local pottery studio trying our hand at creating our own ceramic masterpieces.
Towards the end of the weekend, we can go to Austin and visit a trendy food truck park for unique eats and end the weekend with a fun night at sixth street.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom has been my biggest supporter and inspiration in my artistic journey. I owe a lot of my creative passion to her constant encouragement and belief in my talents.
