We had the good fortune of connecting with Yasmine King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yasmine, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
The decision to keep going or give up is something that will arise when you’re on the journey to pursuing your passion. When the question arise, I think about the outcome of times when I decided to give up on something versus when I remained consistent and chose to keep going. Throughout life experiences, I’ve learned to keep going no matter what. Although losses will come in the process, it doesn’t mean you have to give up entirely. I simply just find another way to accomplish my goal. Prayer, Faith and Consistency is key.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets my art apart from others is the combination of paints and fabrics used to create a 3D effect. I’ve came a long way in my journey. This year, I was apart of the Chocolate & Art show here in Dallas. I was able to sell one of my paintings. It makes me so proud knowing how my art can inspire and bring comfort to others. I want my brand to be known for being “outside of the box”. For those who are reading this, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box or be different from what society deems “normal”. Find your passion and invest in it. Stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy always. Everyone has something that sets them “apart”. Embrace it. I look forward to the new year and what it has to offer me along my journey. I plan to showcase my art in many more events this year, and I also plan to have my own events that will consist of one-on-one art sessions. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas is known for Deep Ellum. I would definitely take a friend there to get a glimpse of Dallas festivities. There’s a variety of restaurants, bars and lounges to fit any vibe, taste or atmosphere you are looking for. There’s also a diverse crowd that allows you to meet and network with others.

I would like to thank my family, friends and supporters who have encouraged me throughout my art journey! It means so much for my family and friends to support and share my content. I am truly grateful and appreciate of everyone of you!
