We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Tevis & Debbie Horton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Whitney & Debbie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind our success is hiring the right people! Our team is made up of talented individuals who bring their own unique skills to each and every project we work on.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When Debbie started The Organized Nest in 2011, there were only 3 organizers in Fort Worth. In those 10 years, organizing companies have popped up everywhere! We depend on word-of-mouth for so much of our business — we feel like our quality of work and attention to detail really sets us apart from the others. Growth is never easy, and we have learned that hiring the right people, and communicating expectations is a key component in our success. Bringing Whitney on as a co-owner in 2020 has allowed the business to grow and expand, and we are excited about our future!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
South Main in Fort Worth is a really fun spot – It has a hipster vibe, and the city has really done a wonderful job of I would start with breakfast and coffee at Hot Box Biscuit Club. It’s an easy walk over to HopFusion Ale Works to grab a local beer. The taproom is open and there are over 15 beers to try – all made here in Fort Worth. Afterwards, hop back over to Morgan Mercantile for hats, t-shirts and handmade gifts by local aritsans. Across the street is Laude the Label clothing store – they have beautiful racks of neutral clothing and earrings made by women all over the globe. They prioritize the quality, health & sustainability of their products over quantity. For a late lunch or early dinner, Wishbone & Flynt is a family-friendly eatery specializing in made-from-scratch, globally inspired small plates & drinks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are incredibly thankful for our families for their encouragement as we continue to expand our business.
