We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, why did you pursue a creative career?
I would say being artistic runs in the family. I have siblings that play in bands, cousins that are very crafty in crocheting, drawing, painting, and my dad used to play instruments when he was younger as well was an avid painter. In elementary school, I joined my school’s art club. There, we were introduced into different medias, sculpting, drawing with charcoals, oil pastels, different forms of painting. As I grew older, I would take interest in different anime and cartoons mainly for their graphic designs. As I got into high school, I was apart the school newspaper and yearbook. A big part of my role in these clubs was taking pictures at school functions. Everyone was in awe when we would review the images I captured from each event. Since then, I saw that I had a great talent.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I like to add personal touches to all my pieces. I like to capture not only the idea but the story and emotions to each creation. It has not been easy as there is many other talented artists in the game. I still see myself in my baby stage of my career, I still have so much growing and learning to do. Right now my biggest obstacle is getting myself out there. I try to stay positive and humble, remembering that my hard work will be well worth it. I am working on a few projects that I’m super excited about. I’m hoping these projects can lead to bigger ones. I’m excited for what the future holds for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a huge fan of nature. I love going for walks at the Cedar Ridge Preserve. One of my favorite go to restaurants is Ojedas; their food is always delicious, their drinks are amazing and the service is always impeccable. One of my other go to restaurants is Juicy Seafood; their seafood boils never disappoint, their drinks are fantastic, and their service is always great. For a great treat after, Rainbow Snow is the way to go! From fruit and candy filled snow cones, to candied fruit and churros! It’s incredible! I’m also a sucker for museums, the weirder, the better!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my husband, family and friends. Many of them would point out how talented I was when I would be bored and started doodling. My husband gifted me my first tattoo gun. I had mentioned to him I had been wanting to get into tattooing but wasn’t sure if it was something I should do professionally. Although I began tattooing in December of 2022, I can definitely see the progress I have accomplished. As a painter, I started doing it as a hobby as a child and continued experimenting with different techniques. It started as me creating personal pieces for friends and family for fun to now having requests from them. Photography started as a hobby during personal trips and a help to the parents in our family as they would try to capture the moments we were creating. After awhile, many would ask if I could take pictures for special occasions.
