We had the good fortune of connecting with Verónica Munoz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Verónica, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
In the construction industry many factors must be taken into account, there is a lot behind each project, it is necessary to take into account the socio-economic and environmental context as it is an industry that generates a lot of impact. In these times where there are so many new technologies and materials, it is necessary to be informed in order to achieve a better use of resources as well as to be able to respond to the needs of the client in the best way.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a professional architect, I’ve always loved to inspire myself either in big and small projects. What I think was missing most were the small companies or not so known projects, which can be breathtaking and serve as muse a lot of times. In the architecture industry it’s also hard to make yourself known, and we knew it. That’s when The Notebook Club was born. We’re a non-profit community of architects, constructors, engineers, designers… who want to show the world our projects and also do some networking. The Notebook Club gives the oportunity to everyone to showcase their works of art and open some doors, which would be closed other wise. What makes us different from other communities/sites is that NO ONE has to pay anything to publish either in our website or in our social media channels, which is always a plus and gives more opportunities to those who can’t afford to publish their work in a known site.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Right now I’m based in Barcelona, but I’ve been living in different places and traveled all around the world. For me, Barcelona is inspiring thanks to their sunny days and happy people, but also as an architect there’s many wonders to visit such as any of the Catalan Modernism houses. A good example if you’d like some inspiration you can visit Hospital Sant Pau or have a drink at 4 gats, a modernist bar in where Pablo Picasso, Santiago Russinyol or Gaudí used to enjoy a nice glass of wine.

If I woke up in the morning first thing I’d do as a visitor would be going to some of the museums. The MNAC is a wonder based in the Palau de Montjuïc in which you’ll feel the history just wandering around. After that I’d go to La boqueria, the central market located in Las Ramblas, right in the heart of the city. Go there and enjoy some fresh fruit or some of the local cuisine. After that I’d go to relax to La Barceloneta, the beach, and read a nice book in which to get lost a few hours, just to make time in order to eat in some “chiringito” with my feets in the sand. A nice and authentic paella is always a good choice! In the evening would go for a walk in Ciutat Vella or El Raval, which are the oldest places in the city and have charming streets with local shops, many bars to have a drink and a lot of good vibes. Finally, I would recommend going to Quilombo, a small and cute bar with live concerts where people give it all!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without the support of my friends and family I would not have been able to achieve many of the things I have been able to achieve. They were and are the driving force behind each of the challenges and projects I set myself. I believe in the collective and I trust that things are achieved much easier and better if they are done as a team.
