We had the good fortune of connecting with Venice Arevalo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Venice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my lash business during 2020, a year that produced a lot of uncertainty. I was a stay at home mom to a one year old at the time and questioned what the future held for my family. I wanted to provide for my child while being present for my family. I hated the thought of having to succumb to the regular 9-5 grind and trade my time for money. My goal was to find something I would love doing and make money while doing it whether it was passive or non-passive. I shortly found that the lash industry would be the path to accomplishing both.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a lash company called Secret Lash Studio. I provide lash extension services to clients while boosting their everyday confidence. I also supply lash artists world wide with premium lash trays, tweezers and adhesives all while providing education through my online academy.

Putting all this together took a lot of time. I had to go through my own trails and errors along with a lot of research. I took many courses from top lash artists to perfect my skill and become incredibly knowledgeable about lash extensions as well as online marketing.

I want the world to know that achieving success starts with your mindset. Everyone has their own version of success. Each version regardless of what it looks like is acceptable as long as it produces happiness and fulfillment for that person. Starting a business is hard and scary but it is the most rewarding thing you could ever do because YOU are in control of it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friends are the type to have fun where ever we are. The Star located in Frisco would be the perfect place to take them or to Legacy West. Both places have great places to eat, drink, and bust a dance move. I would have to take them downtown Dallas for some city views during golden hour and enjoy a rooftop bar and capture some great content for our socials.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thanks to my son and his father along with the impactful women in the lash industry who have motivated and encouraged me to work hard and think bigger than I ever could.
