We had the good fortune of connecting with V’Angelo Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi V’Angelo, how do you think about risk?
Risks have played a huge role in my life. I wouldn’t be in the position I am today. In order to be a entrepreneur, you must take a risks. It started with me fresh out of high school. I could have went to college for academics at a 4 year college, but I took a risk to play basketball at a 2 year community college. I ended up going to University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on a full scholarship after I left that 2 year community college. So, fast forward, I left corporate America to independent personal trainer and I love it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I been training for 5 years. I was doing it part-time until September 2019. I fired my boss and went into business for myself full-time. I am trainer with high morals and principles. I am very knowledgeable and will get the results. I work with all-levels of fitness. I offer 1 on 1 training, semi-private training, small group training, fit camps, online training, youth training, basketball training, or sport performance training. It started off slow at first. It was very challenging, but I stayed with and kept the faith. I give thanks to God, family, and friends. As a entrepreneur, it’s going to be up and downs, but you must see it through. I want the world to know that slow process is still process. Focus on the process and the results will come. I just want to continue to change lives. It brings me joy every time. Lifestyle changes.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say Pangea Restaurant &Bar. I love that spot which is owned by a Chef Kev. It’s a great vibe and great food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course, I want to thank god and my family, but I want to thank my friend, Torian Stencer and Keyon Mourning. They are the CEOs of the non profit YesThrive. They help develop young men and women become leaders in STEM. They are close friends of mines and motivate me daily.
