Meet Vanae Hudson | Realtor, ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanae Hudson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vanae, what role has risk played in your life or career?
A career in real estate is so in line with risk taking, getting licensed is easy but actually being in the real estate field can be so risky. Real estate is a roller coaster business, everyone knows a realtor so you really have to be on top of your game to get business. Having real estate as a full time career can be a risk because deals can fall through, buyers and sellers can back out and you aren’t really paid until the ink is dry! You have to be willing to put forth a lot of effort without knowing if y0u will be rewarded at the end, it is most definitely a delayed gratification type of career.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a REALTOR in East Texas with an Accredited Buyers Representative designation. I am really proud of my success having my first year in Real Estate being during a pandemic. I would not have been able to get where I am today without having a group of supportive people behind me, pushing me to be better and reminding me that I am capable of more than I know. I have learned that in this career perseverance is a huge factor, working in a business with delayed gratification can be discouraging at times. This year has taught me a lot about time management, goal setting and relationships with people; whether it be clients or family and friends, sometimes you don’t realize how much you need the people around you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
HAHA, Greenville is a small town, but I would love to take my friend to downtown and visit Landon Winery, go have a bite to eat at the Ashen Rose and visit a few of the cute boutiques around the area.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First off, I would be no where without the support of my best friend; I couldn’t afford my real estate classes on my own so she paid for them for me, so shoutout to Lauren Patton, for being my biggest cheerleader from day one. I also wouldn’t be anywhere without my brokerage AT Home Texas Real Estate and my bosses Ashley and Tracy, they have provided so much support, so much education and have become my family. My mentor, Sarah Wight, for helping to push me when I need it! My family specifically my mother in-law and husband for setting aside time to watch the kids so I could do extra education, showings, and all things real estate when I needed them!
