We had the good fortune of connecting with Valerie Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valerie, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As a marketing agency, our job at Bold Entity is to help businesses grow, and we’ve always taken this responsibility very seriously. Far more, we’ve deliberately chosen to focus on helping the private sector, small to mid-size. This is why: Small to mid-size businesses in the US create two-thirds of the jobs in the US They account for 44 percent of US economic activity (according to the SBA) Small to mid-size businesses are also the driving force behind both job growth and job loss. One of the top reasons identified by most experts of why this sector fails is marketing – either a lack of strategy, inability to measure impact or results, or the inability to continue to reach new markets to keep growing. The SMB sector poises to have the most impact on our economy. If we continue to pour our hearts and professional expertise into helping this sector achieve scalability and growth, these companies will continue to create new jobs. Therefore, giving people in our community more opportunity to create better futures for their families, reducing crime, bettering our school systems, and reducing poverty are only a few of the trickling effects of job creation, all made possible by SMB’s.
What should our readers know about your business?
Bold Entity is a Dallas-based B2B branding and digital marketing agency founded in 2010. Starting Bold Entity was easy, scaling and continue to scale has been the biggest challenge of my life. Being in the professional services industry, it is assumed that people hire us because we are great at what we do. So it’s easy to assume that if one just continues to “sharpen the sword”, continue to stay ahead of the trends, etc. one will make it. That is only true if you are planning on staying a solopreneur or freelancer. When you are looking for scalability, your success is dependent on many other factors such as the ability to read financials, understand profitability, build efficiency, energize your team, to state a few. It was not until this really synched in that we started growing, and I would encourage people looking to start a professional services company to take note of this and not only focus on being good at their craft. What I would like the world to know about our us and our brand: I named the company Bold Entity, before the word “bold” was cool. I did it because I love a good challenge, in fact, we thrive in challenging situations. The harder the marketing challenge, the more attractive it is to us. We also welcome risk-taking, experimenting, and approaching every campaign with the curiosity of a 2-year old. This is the way we win for our clients.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We always take people from out of town to the Canvas hotel to have a drink while watching the skyline. In our opinion, this is the best view of the city and often quiet. We also often take visitors on taco tours and show them everything from the unconventional tacos to the street tacos and hidden spots. Then they decide which is their favorite.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
