We had the good fortune of connecting with Udy Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Udy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Owning a business was always my dream as a child. A dream would come alive early in my adulthood as a mother of four young babies. Working for a corporation while raising my children was tough, and would not allow me to devote entirely to motherhood. In order for me to attain flexibility with my schedule, and work life balance, I decided to open up my own business so that I could be available for my children both physically and emotionally.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a license Real Estate agent/Realtor. A distinguished professional known for my exceptional customer service and dedication to my clients. My extensive knowledge of the region and unparalleled negotiation skills have earned me a reputation as one of the best in my field.

I am passionate about people and believe that homeownership is a fundamental human right. I strive to make every transaction as smooth and stress free as possible. I recognize that my clients should be prioritized over all else, staying with them from the beginning to the end and committed to their interests and decisions.

I have over 20 years of leadership experience and entrepreneurship. I love all things beautiful and spend over 25 years in the beauty, fashion and cosmetics industries as an owner, Stylist, artistic director, Educator and management. My aspiration to inspire, empower and encourage people from all walks of life led to the publication of my first book “Ekaette is Unbroken” by Desire Monday.

I am very family oriented as a proud mother of four successful and accomplished adult children. Through my relentless work ethics, commitment and dedication, I give my clients the keys to their homes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite spot in the DFW is the Legacy West in Plano, Texas. I love shopping, dinning, and a great stroll. The Legacy West fulfills all of it! Next stop, would be the Dallas Arboretum and botanical garden. Besides the beautiful collection of plants, there are outdoor festivals, concerts, and shows to enjoy.
And of course, the Turkey Den in Fort Worth would definitely be a place to wrap up the trip for a great authentic Cajun and sea food dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I came to America at a very young age of 17. At age 19, I gave birth to my first child. By age 30, I had all four of my children. I endured several divorces, losses and heartaches. Doing life throughout these years without a village, practically alone with only my children has been quite an ordeal. I have always say that God saw way into my future and sent me my four blessings! They have been my greatest motivation, inspiration, encouragement and anchor.
