We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyrone Betters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyrone, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote that I live by, “Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready!” To me it means stay prepared for any and every opportunity that may come available to you. Whether you know its coming or not you should always be on top of your game so when your number is called upon you will always be ready to perform at your best.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my career as a model in the Fall 0f 2008 in Undergrad at Georgia Southern University #HailSouthern. I never really knew what I wanted to do so I tried out for a fashion show called Blaqshion and my life was changed for ever. I was absolutely horrible when I first started but over the span of the semester I started getting better. My runway walk was on point and I was learning what my angles and posing were. I told myself I could do this as a profession and I never looked back.

Over the span of 13 years I have now evolved into an Actor. I have had failures and successes but I am no where near where I project myself to be. The road has definitely not been easy by a long shot. In 13 years I only really started getting paid work since 2014, and now have consistently been booking yearly since 2018. The roller coaster of being an actor and model is a marathon. There are good days and bad, but you have to push through to get to your ultimate goal.

2022 is going to be the biggest jump of my career and I owe it to never giving up and staying in my lane. The most important lesson I have learned is to go all in on your passions. If you put in 50% you get 50% results. If you give it your all, the outcomes look so much better.

I’ve been told I’m to short, not handsome enough, not that talented, you name it. I have always been the underdog because I never fit the bill in most peoples eyes. But I never wavered from what I knew was possible. Sure I have had plenty of doubts but every time I thought about quitting, God came in the clutch.

I am where I am at today through dedication, determination, hard work & perseverance

I just want the world to know that I am dedicated to my craft and that I’m a force to be reckoned with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend been here a few times but we never really got to hit the city like I want. Friday we would hit Cafe 214 in Addison for sure. Saturday Brunch we at Ten01 and probably hit Opera that night. Sunday its gone be chill vibes because I don’t go out everyday of the weekend lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I would like to thank God for blessing me with the vision and drive to make it happen. Secondly I would like to that my family & friends that have been so supportive over my 13 year career so far and understanding that we just getting started. Lastly, I want to thank the supporters who have came along the journey. leaving encouraging words and motivating me to stay the course and telling me that I inspire them. It absolutely fuels me to go even harder on my path to success.
