We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Meksavanh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I was kid, I have always been around cars. Always around them, working on them, washing them, etc. I knew I wanted to start my own business but didn’t know what I wanted to do, then one day I just woke up and knew it was going to be related to something I love which is cars. At this time in my life, I was washing my car 2-3 times a week and I enjoyed that, so I knew auto detailing was going to be it. That’s when T-Mex Automotive Detailing LLC came to life!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own and operate T-Mex Automotive Detailing LLC, a Fully Mobile Detailing business based out of Burleson, TX but we travel all around the Dallas Fort Worth area! I think what sets me apart from many others is the true passion I have for cars and detailing them for people. I’m not in this for money, it’s something I truly enjoy. My slogan has always been “Passion Over Profit” since the beginning. I truly enjoy what I do especially when a client comes to check out their vehicle and they’re just shocked by how amazing it looks. From regular daily drivers to exotics, we strive to have them looking like they are rolling off the show room floor!

I got to where I am today by hard work and dedication. It sounds cliche but I truly mean it. Early morning, long nights, missing parties, events, gatherings etc. Doing this wasn’t easy but I always looked at the bigger picture, setting goals for myself and hitting them little by little, like i said it wasn’t easy but the accomplishments and growth definitely make it worth while.

Throughout my journey, I learned a lot of lessons. One major thing I learned throughout the years is to have patience, nothing happens overnight. I battled myself mentally with this because I’ve always wanted things to happen as soon as I think about it. But as I grew I learned more and more just to give things time. Another thing I learned is to not compare yourself to others, this pertains to business and in real life. Nowadays we live in a world full of social media, it’s easy to compare yourself to people you see online on instagram, facebook etc. Everyone has their own pace at things, when you see others winning, root for them, your time is coming next!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting I would definitely take them all around Fort Worth. Stockyards for the cattle drive, run over to Clearfork for a good meal and some shopping, and maybe end the night out on 7th street for a few drinks!

If the Cowboys are playing we’re definitely going to hit up a game!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shoutout that I would love to is to my family, they’ve sacrificed a lot for me throughout life and have given me their 100% backing/support since I started this adventure. I could not be more thankful for them and their support. They’re truly my backbone! Another shoutout I would love to give is to ANYONE who has supported me through this adventure, from booking a service, to handing out business cards, reposting our posts, those things do not go unnoticed. I appreciate each and everyone that shows that love and support!
