We had the good fortune of connecting with Troi Cluse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Troi, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My Work Life Balance has changed drastically since opening the studio. It’s common knowledge that starting a business does require a level of sacrifice, but you don’t really know what that entails until you’re actually in the thick of it. Since I’m still working full-time, it’s been incredibly challenging for me to balance my job, my passion, and my personal life. Time flies even quicker than it ever has before, and sometimes I find myself wondering how I even got from point “A” to point “F.” Forcing myself to create that balance has been a slow process, but I’m hopeful that I’ll establish a routine that works perfectly for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
Pink Yolk Paint and Sip Art Studio is a quirky and colorful Paint and Sip experience with nothing but Good Vibes to go around. From Painting and Crafting Sessions to Private Events, we have a little something for all ages and experience levels to enjoy, so there’s really no need to have any prior art experience. Our Instructors not only make the experience entertaining, but they take the time and attention to break down the process step-by-step, and allow the guest as much creative freedom as they want with their art. We don’t like to limit creativity, so the sky is the limit when you’re creating with us.

Through my experience creating art and instructing at other studios, I personally believe that creating Art is not just for the Individual to express themselves freely, but it also sparks joy and brings people together. I knew from the very beginning that this was my main mission for this studio. It was important for me to create an artistic environment where guests could relieve stress and create great memories with one-another. With the support from my friends and family, we were able to create a warm and whimsical space where people have the capability to do so, and just have a good time.

There were a lot of lessons learned along the way. To this day, I’m still learning. Becoming a business-owner has forced me to accept the fact that mistakes are inevitable, but how you respond to them will heavily determine the trajectory of where your business will stand. Currently, I’m in that phase where I’m deciding what my response will ultimately be and how I’m going to move forward. Some nights I find myself silently crying in a pillow, praying to God for guidance, because I want this dream to succeed so badly. It’s exhausting and heart-breaking at times, but giving up is not an option.

The biggest challenge that we’re facing at the moment is delegation. At the moment, it’s just my parents and I running the studio. My mom manages the finances (and assists me with sessions), my Dad takes care of Studio Maintenance, and I take care of Bookings, Customer Service, Social Media and everything else in between. Getting more Sessions and Party Bookings is great, but it’s becoming a lot for us to manage on our own, so we’re looking to hire a few extra members to the studio team. We’re very excited for this change and looking forward to see where this will take us!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Family (Mom, Dad and My Sister) have literally been my biggest support and encouragement throughout this process. I really don’t think I’d still be doing what I’m doing without them. My Mom assists me with all of my classes and helps me prepare for upcoming private events, my Dad keeps the studio spotless and organized, and my sister is always giving me fresh ideas to keep me inspired.
