We had the good fortune of connecting with Trey Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trey, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I just want to be a guy that helped change others lives. When I’m gone, I want my kids to be able to say my dad helped others no matter what! I look at this business as a tool to help people better their lives, not just the members, but hopefully I can help better the lives of employees as well. My goal is to be able to pay more than the normal rate for each position. I’ve made mistakes, so I’d like to help others that may have walked a similar path and feel like it’s holding them back. Everyone has a different rock bottom, but all rock bottoms are exactly that. I want people to remember me as a man that helped others get out of whatever rut they’re in!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I worked in the restaurant industry. It’s full of long hours and very fast paced. I worked for family and saw how they always helped as many as they could. I’d like to be able to help others creatively. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to take care of the ones who take care of your business. Appreciate your employees! Be as generous as possible and love your people! I want people to join RockBox Mansfield, because we’re more than a gym! We’re a home for the broken! Whatever your problem is, I want to be able to help. Fitness is more than weight loss, it’s mental health as well, and much much more!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m super simple lol. I frequent 54th street in Mansfield, so that’s a place for sure. Stock yards is always a fun place to go. I don’t really do much other than go to RockBox and play a little softball. Like I said my life is super simple.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents for sure! They have always supported me in every way. My brother in law Tommy, has played a huge part in my thought process. He’s older than me by a quite a bit, he’s solid, I’ve learned alot from him just listening to him. He’s helped everyone around him, including me. I’d love to be able to do the same!
